Poor Whiskey waited so patiently watching you create that huge sandwich and all he got was a measly slice of deli ham. lol What a wonderful member of your family and so much fun to watch his eyes while he's waiting for his treat.

This is like the croque monsieur without the egg. This is so bad for you, but so darn good! Another sandwich Joel that is quite good is a chicken sandwich covered in brown gravy with boiled peas piled on top.....big thing in Quebec.

I had the most delicious Croque Madame for brunch last week. I searched for it and came across this video. I followed your recipe to a T and it turned out great! My sourdough slices were a little too thick and not square, so it fell apart a bit, but I will definitely make this in the future.

A Bechamel should always be made with cold milk. I also find a medium-poached egg or two on top more pleasing. Other than that, this sandwich looks incredible.
