Made this last night with your fondant potatoes. Apart from using chicken breast instead of thighs I followed the recipe exactly. It was delicious! My hard to please husband liked it a lot, which is always a bonus!!! However, the fondant potatoes were the star of the plate! They were amazing! I did boil for a few mins, then dried them. Also when I was cooking them in the oil and butter I forgot to put in the garlic and thyme🙄, so I put the garlic cloves and the thyme sprigs in the roasting pan with the chicken stock. I basted them during cooking. OMG! Gorgeous! First recipe from this site, I don’t think it will be my last! Thank you.

I tried it and also made it with just boneless chicken thighs. It was exactly as you described and the meat was so tender and juicy. The nice thing about the recipe is that it's pretty quick and easy to prepare and doesn't require any additional side dishes, we had fresh baguette and a light red wine with it, that's all it needs. My Daisy was so well behaved too. She knew kitchen was off limits, and so were the sofas and beds. She had no problem so long as she could lay with her head on mummy’s lap or she could wrap around daddy’s legs. She was an abandoned puppy and we were happy to adopt her, and was sick from young age. Finally at 5 years we had to let her go as her liver failed.... Whiskey is so beautiful and handsome and doesn’t resemble Daisy in any way. She was a Lab mongrel. But for some inexplicable reason he brings back her memories...may be by the way he lays near the kitchen and patiently waits..I often watch your videos as much to see Whiskey as for the recipe. OK, I tried it yesterday. My son said "It is very good". My wife said "It is delicious". I said: "It looked simpler in the video as when I cooked it" :) I must say (please this is my personal taste, so take it like that) that the mixture of flavors is a bit too complex for me. Next time I will skip the mustard and I will use less butter than I did (and leave less flour on the meat than I did) . The top moments from the taste for me (us) were: Lemon, sundried tomatoes, basil. Highlighted by the chilli sharpness coming from background. (PLZ. note that I am really not very experienced cook).
@Ebvardh6 күн бұрын
Thank you for confirming my suspicions about this recipe; it also struck me as “too much”. The mustard and the tanginess of the lemon zest are better suited for a different flavor profile.
