I know you posted this 2 yrs ago. But i wanted to say thank you! you are the first person to show/state to turn down the temperature of the pot to low and instructed to simmer for 30 mins. All other videos just say cook for 30 to 40 mins after boiling which results in a burnt rice. So thank you again.
@CaribSunsations5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah you pretty much want to boil on high until you see the rice above or almost above the rice, then turn down on low. We try to be as thorough as much as we can. Glad we could help!

Wonder why he took it off the list? Maybe because it was from China? Is high in antioxidants and everything else so that's kind of weird he would take it off. I'm a hit up some of his relatives and see what that's all about

Looks delicious! I’m just learning about this type of rice & looking forward to trying it. Other videos I’ve watched recommend soaking it overnight. Is that a necessary step?

I know that is an old video, but if you’re still around... can the forbidden rice be cooked with bone broth instead? Or is it strictly water? Thanks!!! 🙏🏻💙💙💙
@CaribSunsations4 жыл бұрын
You can use whatever you desire. It will still cook and absorb the water, or any substitute. You are not limited to just water. 🙂

Hmm....when I rinsed my black rice, the water was black as well. The look and texture are the same. Why yours is clear? I know there's another kind of "black rice", longer in size but it is called black glutinous rice. Now this ki d when it's rinsed, the water is clear not the black rice. Interesting....kinda confusing 😕
@B-reelBee Жыл бұрын
Black glutinous rice is used for dishes like Mango Sticky rice. It’s different than forbidden rice, you wouldn’t substitute them

Using a cup for dried ingredients is just wrong. Use a Pyrex cup to measure Liquid Ingrediends, and Plastic/Metal Cup Measures for Dry. Otherwise-YUMMY!
