Great Video and the facts are true about LS3 head and the big valves. However, a lot of people have had great luck with these heads which make crazy power and torque, I think these heads are very sensitive to cam timing and need a lot more exhaust timing to perform really well. Brian's stroker cam has a 15 degree split

Yaaaa thats why my 5th gen is getting a pds cam.

Its all about pressure and the air flow pressure in the exhaust valve, ( even the angel of the valve seat is important), the bigger it is is not the answer its streamlining and match porting the exhaust valve and the air flow of the exhaust to streamline it when its on the exhaust point and blue printing the timing at the point where all the exhaust gases are extracted out before the inlet valve starts to open up, so testing and flow charts for the engine you have is the best way to go ,so LS engines are made to work as they are if you start to mess with factory items, make sure you check with a GM Chevy engine aftermarket specialists?

Brian how much wet flow testing have you done and how to you see total ignition timeing VS head flow efficiency
@racerd38016 жыл бұрын
Talking about flow balance , just look at the flow numbers on your Trick flow BB mopar head, How do you fix this with a camchaft?
@racerd38016 жыл бұрын
You also talk about IVC , but not seat timing numbers?

Canted valve motors seem to be able to run larger intake valves without the exhaust valve crowding/shrouding, are these talks about inline valve motors? What about the old Cleveland Ford design dominant Engine Masters? Do you have tech that applies?

Can your exhaust be ever too good/free flowing?

how much Scavenging would take place with 114° - 115° of lobe separation on turbocharge charge application I don't understand Titan Motorsports have run 70 to 100lb of boost without back pressure issues (Delta pressure) or Scavenging issues

Gen 5 Camaro have too big of heads? which engine was he referring to?
@tsmi58075 жыл бұрын
What he is saying is that he can not improve them enough, they are too big in that respect.

Is AFR220 to big for 383 with blower 142?
@frankm23855 жыл бұрын
IMHO a 142 is a low and mid range blower. 220 is better utilized at a higher rpm and sonewhat wasted on a 142. You are better off with a AFR 195 and flow more than efficient and a good balance for what you're using it for. Good luck on your build.

The other problem with 98.8% of engine builders is that they use the customer as the test bed, and will not spend a plug nickle on testing, like you have done

Why would you care about HP/CI when there aren't any rules limiting displacement on the street or in bracket racing? If Ford comes out with a 4.400" bore space block with DOHC heads it will be MORE than 30" wide at the valve covers. If it had a wedge head, and it could be 30" wide, thus it could approach a 5" bore spacing. Efficiency is where you find it and I'll never understand why the street guys care about volumetric efficiency.
@brianroagers68945 жыл бұрын
So true
@BradHedges4 жыл бұрын
Increasing the bore spacing will make the engine longer... Not wider (unless the larger bores allowed by the increased spacing requires an extra.... Quarter inch, maybe?).
@BradHedges4 жыл бұрын
Volumetric efficiency has nothing to do with displacement/cubic inches... It's a fuel consumption/power ratio...
