Roblox has a large military community, a decent chunk consisting of people who are inspired by SQUAD or Arma and try to make military simulators. However, its rare to find actual veterans or military personnel in these communities. They're usually made up by teenagers or people who might join in the future, and are generally somewhat toxic. This is coming from my own experience.

Lol fr the whole MILSIM Community of Roblox they showed was true. But also false. They want to but they can’t join the military, as they don’t want to. Fact is that most people in MILSIM fake military experience and everybody is law enforcement seal team 6 who is not serving right now and got blown up in Afganisthan most usually out of all Middle East countries, they’d rather tell how to join this and that which they found on the internet or would pull out a non-existent application to make us believe they are really in the military with ww2 military profile pictures on discord. I ain’t seen big wannabes like these. The amount of real military personnel in MILSIM/Military Simulator(not vikinglaw’s, the community im talking about over here) Community is just like any other community on roblox or other games and communities. I just hopped in and looked at 3 kids bragging on how they got blown in Afganisthan and were Seal Team 6 and all 3 were Law Enforcement. It is funny for it no cap, I mean Arma 3 would’ve been an even better example as people who don’t know Roblox would be laughing and wheezing hard for different reasons compared to ours, reasons being it’s lego, etc.

In order to organise such a Roblox group is extremely impressive and difficult, it’s funny from the outside but if you try it yourself, your group won’t be getting anywhere unless you got impressive skills. You got either develop the games yourself or find excellent developers, write training handbooks, documents, host trainings for a huge crowd of people which is very difficult, etc. Definitely hard and can be applied to real life, it will definitely teach you basics in terms of fighting strategies, logistics, leadership, organisation, etc.

it's because if they showed those games it would scare people off, it's like if they showed the air training corps as their main focus being on drill and other strict/ "boring" things they'd get a lot less recruits (potentially why my old squadron struggled with recruitment seeing as they'd always have a squad on show at open nights), Roblox makes the idea of military discipline and rules not only approachable cost wise due to being a free game almost any pc can run, but fun and relatively casual due to the limitations of the game. meanwhile arma can be modded to have realistic radio coms, a fairly elaborate medical system, ballistics/windage to account for and so on.

You could argue roblox is stricter and more open due to the fact you can script in the game, place models in the game. We use Discord and Zello to properly communicate. Arma and The Roblox Miliarty Community both have the same realism and actual military tactics.

To be honest, I’ve been in these types of games in fact, once I was able to see a truly experiences group focusing on the United Kingdom’s army, I was able to serve as a carrier operator, and I could see airplanes and helicopters boarding and taking off. As an ex-infantryman, the game Squad has massive real world traning value. The current system (at least when I was in) was based on Bohemia Interactive's ARMA, it may be good for strategy and the HQ side of things, but for the men on the ground it is clunky and boring. Squad would be a far better and more realistic alternative.

To follow up, I know it's training and not designed to be "fun", but at the bottom line keeping a platoon of 18 year old infantryman interested and focused on a laptop is tricky. If the training was actually fun, and even competitive, there would be far more engagement at the low level. Think about the effort the lads apply on a section attack with blanks, vs a peer to peer training scenario with simulations. Put them against eachother and watch them flourish.

Everything in it is easily gained and there's almost no work or effort put into it beyond doing obstacle courses for training and being given unfair advantages with better equipment than the enemy team. They may say that ROBLOX translates to real life, but the opposite is not true at all. People tried applying real life logic to ROBLOX and it only made ROBLOX worse

Trust me dude, they don't really know what they're doing when it comes to ROBLOX. For starters groups have completely dropped doing PvP almost entirely, and when they do, they try to apply real life logic to it by giving themselves better weapons than the enemy in literally every engagement on every base making it basically pointless for you to raid another group unless you're well trained enough to fight against nearly impossible odds. Not to mention most of the time they're incredibly biased and free rank members along with a whole armada of pedophiles, predators and scammers that literally live and breathe off of military groups

I've played video games since i was about 4, PC obviously. Now 17 and its a very large part of my life. This is especially good to see as i do plan on joining when i leave sixth form. Plan on joining as a tank crewman into RTR so maybe 5 years of War Thunder only playing the british may of helped XD. On a serious note if you do get into it, it can teach you a thing or two about tanks. My friend once said he was amazed at how i just knew where to shoot most tanks in order to kill them, as well as general knowledge about tanks and larger weaponry.

@Magnus things are very, very different to how I ever could of imagined them two years ago. First of all, I didn't end up joining, things changed and I ended up going to Univeristy. As I said, I've always played video games so I'm currently studying Video Games Design, 1/4 of the way through the course. On a personal note, I'm the happiest I've ever been. Things aren't the way I thought they'd be, but I wouldn't change a thing. Recently I got a girlfriend whom I've known for 8 years, we've been best friends all the way through, something definitely lasting the long term. I feel alive, I see a future and I've got someone so amazing to share it all with; everything is really good. Been thinking of using my degree to look at policing if video games doesn't work out, either way, very hopeful for the future. Thanks for asking 👍

my guess is that they wanted milsim gaming to look simple and approachable, if I'd known just how complex a milsim unit in arma and arma itself can get I may not have gotten the game, let alone joined a unit on there, they even do organised training with revision material, safety supervisors on all "live fire" training, they even have blanks and BFAs on the rifles for a lot of the training, the unit is 18+ so not much good for recruitment into the real forces but got a decent bunch of serving personnel dotted around the unit, they even have an entire home rotation of a month or so for training ATM 2 nights a week for a couple of hours a week in preparation for the next big campaign.

There are actually a lot of types of Roblox military games. The main one when it comes to gameplay is the normal PVP. There’s Roleplay where you have to do a lot of much but it still gives you freedom without any commands. And the one shown in this video, I don’t really have a name for it but they tell you to do a bunch of stuff. I’ve been in 2/3 of these type of games, very fun to experience. I’m actually hoping to be in a ceremonial unit when I’m the recruiting age and I love anything military.

@@anmise It's funny because they may teach discipline, but none of them know how to fight, not on the game or in real life. If you look at their breaching technique, it's almost always just made to look cool and they don't have any standardized battle drills. This is why you see groups giving themselves better weapons than the enemy team because if it was fair, the odds would be somewhat leveled. I don't like it when people try to apply real life logic to ROBLOX because most of them haven't been in the army long enough to actually use what they teach and understand that ROBLOX is a video game and things need to be watered down for the game to still be fun.

I am a Roblox player i am a part of the MILSIM community and Roleplay (such police) And I have noticed a lot of current armies, marine, airforce members joining! I have learned a lot. I have played Roblox since 2013 and have seen Roblox becoming more and more active and popular each day that goes by. It is really funny and interesting at the same time to see Roblox military groups (aka Ro-nation) Trying to become more real each day that goes by. I have been part of multiple different groups like this one where they all are trying to replica the real-life military by organizations, Doctrine, Air, Sea, Land battles. In voice calls, they all communicate by using Air traffic control for Air battles or Zello for ground communications and basic discord communications. The funny part about all this is that this is made by the community only. This can also been seen in other genres within the Roblox such as Star Wars even tho it's far different.

I see alot of people asking why not jsut use Arma 3. Well I used to be a roblox player but moved to arma 3. Let me explain, roblox has very low pc requirements. Not only that but it has full customizabilty whotut taking much extra space. Not only that but it's also free. Arma 3 alot of the time is very expensive, whereas roblox is free. No matter where you go on it. Although it is a game designed for kids, it has the milsim corner which is very nice at times (when the americans dont intervene).
