I highly recommend you the channel called The Jolly Heretic. The guy who runs it is an anthropologist and he has very interesting theories regarding why it is happening to our societies. I see what you're saying, and once you're a teen and switch it's your call, but I think if your parents went along with letting you live as a boy as a child, then when you start to hit puberty and commit one way or the other, and they go with what you want, I think that would be fine too. But either way at least you're happy with the outcome, that's all that matters

@shadow inc I agree, as a parent it's a catch 22. You either go with your child's wish and they change their mind down the road, or you raise them cis and they transition post puberty, which has its own issues. I think the best course of action is to go with it, but not commit in terms of permanent treatments until the start of puberty when the kid is old enough to understand and before there's any major changes in either direction, that's just my opinion. The parents were in a vulnerable position as a result of the hospital screwing up a standard circumcision, after which they were strongly advised by a purported expert at the time that the best solution to their son's burnt off penis would be raising him as a girl. His theory was that children were born clean slates and gender was solely determined by nurture. He was hoping this "accidental" longitudinal study with identical twins would validate his theory. That's because we need to start making a distinction between gender roles and gender. The way we view gender now is a social construct. Guys used to wear dresses and makeup, pink used to be a boy's colour, etc.. Trans people are real, but it's dangerous to assume kids who don't adhere to gender roles are trans solely based on that. I feel like a lot of hate is being directed towards an already at-risk minority of people due to this.

Amy I feel sorry for you. You have to change everyone else’s comments to fit your agenda. Get over yourself.
@steves10153 жыл бұрын
@Amy you completely miss the point. No one is saying that people cannot be transgender. The issue is that parents are not allowing their children to be children. We don’t allow children to do certain things because they are not yet developed enough to realise the long term ramifications of their actions. So why the hell are we allowing young kids to “decide” that they are a different sex to what they were born and then given life-altering drugs. These hormones and hormone-blockers are not something to be used without regard, they are incredibly potent and will cause many effects in the body aside from sex-associated developments. Let’s face it, how many people genuinely need to transition compared to how many kids will at one time identify as not being their own sex? The very real fear is that whereas in the past tom-boys and the male equivalent will be allowed to just live a normal childhood and work through this phase, now if a child exhibits the same behaviour, then the parents and healthcare workers will be too quick to start them down another path involving irreversible medical interventions. Also, it seems pretty clear that the kid at the beginning just wants to be a boy and his mum is trying to get him to be otherwise.
@smitajky3 жыл бұрын
When I was young the idea of transitioning was impossible. People may have been dissatisfied with their lot in life but a sex change wasn't the answer. I would have preferred to have been born a girl and my wife would have preferred to be born a boy. For each of us there were reasons. The solution was to campaign for people to be free to be themselves whatever that is. With each other we can be whatever we are. We can each have the best of both worlds. We can BE the sex we are born as but we are not required to wear a cultural straight jacket. That is far better than transitioning ever could be.
@Almond.stars6663 жыл бұрын
Even if you were to grow up in these times the chance of your parents forcing to transition because you were a tomboy would be very very very very low,because parents forcing their child to transition today is very rare (less than 1%).People started to realize existence of trans people as early as the 1950s.And in present times today we as a whole is trying to progress to a more accepting society,so very few parents may think they may be contributing to that society by making their kids trans.Parents who force their child to be trans is child abuse, don’t chose or force what your child should identify as.Just have your child on default settings and they can change those settings later on if they want. It’s also looks like parents who accept their trans children are seen as forcing their child to transition when that’s not the case,trans kids know their trans as soon as they realize the difference between a boy and girl and that can be at any age too(the lack of education,understanding,misinformation about trans people is just very frustrating☹️).Too many people today see being transgender as this bad thing when it’s not;it can be life changing,but it’s not bad,forcing someone to be trans is bad but being trans isn’t.

I was a tomboy as a child. I was outside playing in the dirt. Picking up the worms when it rained. Catching frogs. Fishing. Playing sports. I also thought I looked more like a male because I had very short hair, and would wear my male cousins hand me down clothing. Sometimes I was teased and told I looked like a boy because of those things. I don't believe I ever told anyone and I worked through it on my own. Went through puberty, my hair grew longer, and I definitely looked like a female at this point. I can't even imagine how I would feel today had I told someone I felt like a boy and was allowed to "become one." It's perfectly ok for females to enjoy things that males do. It's also ok for males to like things females do. It's ok to be a tomboy. It's ok for boys to have feminine traits. It doesn't make us the opposite gender simply because we enjoy things the opposite gender does. This is so disturbing and heartbreaking for all the children who are allowed to transition then later realize it was a mistake. A life altering mistake.

Or the Australia mom who, upon learning her baby was a boy, had a total breakdown and tried to get a third term abortion because the idea of having a boy inside her made her sick? Look, i believe, 100% that incels suck...but Feminists started this shit, and its feminist women with sons who are doing these things. Dont blame the incels for this, they dont even have kids, because they cant get a woman who is willing to have sex with them.

I had a tomboy friend through school. Everyone was saying she was a boy and asking when sje plans to transition. She told them, never because she was a girl, she was born a girl, she knew she was a girl, she knows she likes boy in terms of sexuality, and just because she does more guy stuff then girl stuff doesnt change who she is. She's now married and currently pregnant with her second child. Her husband is a stay at home dad and we still hang out for gaming.

I actually liked the female version more cause she was really sexy didn't understand it back then but I have toys , pencil cases , launch boxes of the female version cause I just love looking at her I didn't mind that it the design was girly and some people pointed that I liked feminine stuff more and even my cousins thought I was probably gay but no I just love female characters even in my younger days even playing games I always pick the female characters especially if they are cute.

I didn't like dolls, makeup, or tea parties. Today, I am an ordinary heterosexual female with two children. My tomboy tendencies had nothing to do with my chromosomal sex (XX) or my ultimate gender. What has happened to humanity? It makes no sense that adults are enabling the nonsense that children spew out all the time. Kids don't know what they're doing due to lack of life experience.

TinyTinTeeth True. If a girl wants to climb trees and cut her hair short you shouldn't immediately think, "oh, my child is trans! I'll take them to the doctor for transitioning immediately!" Same as if a boy wants to play with dolls and have tea parties.
@Dylan-bj3zy4 жыл бұрын
@Ryan Smith because, a lot of boys that are more than likely just gay are getting transitioned into transgender girls/women. A LOT of gay men have spoken out about this happening to them as children until they were finally able to come out as gay, not transgender. I actually know a guy I grew up with that had parents who started transitioning him at 5. Well as soon as he was legal and away from their hold, he completely quit the transition and came out as gay. Obviously not all of the young boys being transitioned are gay, but a staggering amount are. For some reason, it's easier for a lot of parents to have a transgender child instead of a gay one. He was making a very valid point, it wasn't attention seeking.
@Dylan-bj3zy4 жыл бұрын
@Ryan Smith ......who said that? That's not what I said at all. But it's a fact that a LOT of kids pushed to transition later come out as gay men. There's a bunch of medical studies about this as well. A little boy will act "feminine" such as wanting to wear makeup or dresses and all of a sudden they are trans according to their parents. A LOT of gay men do this in childhood it is extremely common. A lot aren't gay either as I said, but the majority end up coming out as gay. You seem like a very angry person who is unable to have a normal conversation without freaking out at people. I was polite and explained their point which WAS valid and you can't accept that for some reason. I am completely against doing this to children but apparently you think everybody but you is wrong. I hope you one day deal with your anger issues, it's quite sad really and I bet it's a miserable existence to always be so upset at everyone around you.
@Dylan-bj3zy4 жыл бұрын
@Ryan Smith It's clear that you are unable to understand logic or read more than one paragraph at a time. Unlike you, I am able to clearly explain my points and I guess that's intimidating to you. I said in my reply that this does NOT mean all of them will come out as gay later down the road, but most men who did stuff like this in their childhood DO come out as gay. I'm done fighting over a valid point that has been a well known fact for a very long time in the medical community. There are very clear differences in the brain of someone who is gay versus someone who is straight. It is a natural variant that occurs and is completely unavoidable and acceptable. As I said, you have clear anger issues for no good reason towards people you don't even know and it's very apparent. Maybe you should do some research on the matter before making an ass of yourself on the internet. Also, may I suggest some therapy? They can help get to the bottom of your anger issues. 75 people understood his comment and the link to homosexuality versus the measly amount that agreed with your ignorant rebuttal. That says a lot. Also, sorry if my response is too long for you to comprehend, wouldn't want to hurt your brain. 🙄

My baby brother wanted to wear a pink dress with flowers for two weeks in Kindergarden and insisted on being called a female version of his name. Everyone let him have his fun, no one said he was "confused", he just existed. He's 25, straight and a very happy male. No one told him he was female, nor male when he was small. Can't children just exist and be kids? It's very common to want to explore without it having to be some sort of gender confusion at all. I remember that for the next few days she may have told people about what I did. I don't even know how old I was. I think the only reason I did that was simply because I Had Seen My Mom Put On Make-Up. That's it. Kids copy what they see other people do. That's why they put their parent's shoes on and pretend to be ninjas, superheroes, princesses, firefighter, etc.

That’s exactly why you shouldn’t transition people until their adults because it could be that’s just a phase or just a liking they have and may not mean they actually want to transition or even if they say they do they might regret it later in life if it turns out to just be a phase and their not actually transgender. Adults are more capable of making decisions like that and know the consequences and what they want better than children so it’s ok if their adults and want to transition, but it’s not ok if their kids.

I didn't have many, and the one's I did have didn't have a lot of "free-motion" or the ability to move all their body parts in different ways... but my sister's Barbie dolls did. So, what was a boy to do, but make Barbie into his personal action figure. (lol) And, I had to undress the dolls so I could get complete freedom with each of them. Those things could do high kicks and what-not. It felt like I was playing Street Fighter or doing Anime moves. It was fun. I didn't play tea-parties. I had those girls playing as if they were Kim Possible, or even a villain sometimes. It's not that boys don't want to play with action figures, but when a Barbie doll has more mobility than most modern boy dolls, I'll be doing awesome flips with my sister's dolls; beating up villains or such. I find that thinking about that kind of stuff tends to just get in the way. In your day to day life it actually doesn't matter if you are a man or woman. I just think everyone should choose for themselves what they want for the rest of their lives when they are most cognitively able to do so. I know I wouldn't want to make a body altering permeate decision at 7. Makes more sense at 18 or 21 to make those choices.
@TheUltimateBlooper4 жыл бұрын
Dude, even 18 is too early. Think about it - what the fuck do people know at the age of 18? NOTHING. Most westerners by the age of 18 have not had a single job, have been living with their parents, they can't cook a meal or wash their filthy clothes. I'd not even give anyone the damn VOTE until the age of 25 as a minimum. Why should some snot-nosed prick vote on decisions to change their country into a communist utopia when they have no clue about how to hold down a job and how money and life work? Same thing with the "transitioning" - I'm sure everyone feels like a genius at the age of 22, rotting away at some liberal arts college, but that doesn't mean they have any more of a brain than a child.
@adrianahuihui87224 жыл бұрын
@@TheUltimateBlooper I’m happy with the decision I made at 18 to transition. It’s been 2 years and I am still very much happy. However, my process was too easy in my opinion. I called the clinic, then got labs ordered, then the next weekend I got my first dose. Because I am satisfied with my choice, that’s awesome for me. However it scared me that young adults have such ease to make potentially permanent changes to their bodies.
