Ford 5.4 2V Oil Filter Adapter Gasket Replacement

This video is Part 8 of a much longer series of videos that get into a motor project I did with my son. The motor is a 1999 Ford 5.4 Liter 2 valve (2V). When he got the truck it had a bad knocking sound. The oil looked like a silver metallic spray paint when we inspected it so we decided to remove the motor with engine problems and replace it with a used one. It only made sense to replace gaskets and seals as well as do an oil pump replacement with an performance upgrade pump among several other things.
The purpose of the videos in this series is just to show you how we did the work so maybe you can save time and learn from the mistakes we made along the way. Do anything you see in the videos at your own risk.

Nice clean engine and u put a felpro gasket. Go with oem if u don't felpro will leak soon, ask me how i kno

I certainly understand where you're coming from. Once you've had a bad experience with a brand you certainly don't go back for seconds. Personally, I've only had positive experiences with the Fel-Pro gaskets and seals that I've used over the years so I never have any worries when using them. But I get it, if you had a Fel-Pro fail (especially quickly) you would stay away and go with OEM. When asked I always say go with what you're most comfortable using. @@javosgarage I don't disagree I've used felpro gasket for oil pan and valve covers without issue but for this application me and many others have had issues with them leaking,look into the forums if u don't believe me. Anyhow I hope it works out

​@@Lando1020on the bright side you showed the rest of us we can torque a 10mm bolt to 40ft lbs safely. Most 10mm are only torqued to half that amount
