I've done a bunch of them for the Ford dealership and it ended up being the blower motor in the back rest of the passenger seat
@niara88488 ай бұрын
Any recommendations of this isn’t the problem? I have 2020 Edge ST. Passenger seat works fine, driver seat has no heat or cooling. I don’t see any damage in the connectors.

Is that connector for both sides or each side has its own connector
@williamvaughan1218 Жыл бұрын
Just fixed one last week. Since it was out of warranty and I did not want the same problem happening again I removed the module and soldered the 3 power and grounds directly to the terminals removed the pins from the connector drilled holes through the connector and routed the wires I installed through the connector and properly spliced the wires. No parts connector still plugs in module is fine and no bad contacts ever again. If you replaced the connector it would just happen again

That's replace connector after you cure the cause for the excessive draw.

Is the correct fix for this a replacement plug, an entire wiring harness, or just cut the wire and bypass the plug with a good connection for that wire only?
@calebminasian8175 Жыл бұрын
ford sells a new connector kit. de-pin all of the good wires and solder in a new ground wire. it’s important to take the module that the connector plugs into apart and clean the ground pin otherwise it will happen again. you can also add another ground to the unused pin next to it. if it has gotten too hot the module may not be repairable.

So if it's NOT BURNT UP But you see discoloration, WHAT DO YOU DO????

Just smelled burning smell in my truck last week and now both heated and ac seat does not work. I checked this plug and found the wires on this connector burned. I took the module out, split it open and looked at the board. The pins seem to have good connection so I took steel wool to them and cleaned them up and reassembled. I am going to order the repair pigtail from Ford. Part Number WPT928. Hope this helps some of you

Update: Replaced connector and so far everything is working, nothing is smoking or glowing red. Seems like that was the fix.

Great job 👏. I wish I could have you fix mine because ford is asking for a bunch of $$$.

My pin was burned in the exact same spot as shown in the video. Does that part number include the wiring or is it just for the pig tail?

What can you direct me on for a message “collision warning system not available “ combined with “ activated cruise not available” on a 2014 Explorer Sport eco? Break fluid was low but after hit appropriate level it stops better but not improvement on the cruise control. What should I check next 2-3 steps in progression? Thanks

If pin on module is also burnt up, replace pigtail and module. If not replace just the pigtail

If connectors are melting then Ford should be responsible!

So mine was burnt up I called the fords parts department 244.18$ for a connector is crazy, I’ll probably buy one off eBay seen one for 20$

Had this issue on 2020 Fusion Titanium. Would kinda work on warm days. But on hot days it made the seat back hotter. Never worked right from day one. So I chose to live like a caveman with no cool air on my butt and back. 😮
