Hi Everyone
Welcome back to the channel and a new car ! Yes I've gone and done it again and have gone back in time and got myself another Capri, before the Delorean came along, the Capri was the weapon of choice and now after 11 odd years I've got another one back in the stable !
I'm so chuffed !!

I have had 3 Capri's in my life time. A. mk 2 16 , A mk 3 28 .... A mk 3 2 litre pinto. The pinto best Capri ford I ever owned. Phenomenonal power from a straight 4 engine. The almighty twin Webber carbs spoilt the engine with food called petrol.. 28 injection killed off the Capri. The 3 litre with twin Webber carbs was one hell of a beast. Injection engines are nothing but problems. The shape of the Capri is awesome.

My only Capri was a 1.3L, eventually fitted a 1.6 ohv engine to get up these hills lol, always fancied 2.8i in black like your lovely example well done, like the "mars rover" music in background..

Very nice Capri. I've owned mine since Oct 1994. I've 'tweaked' it to the point were it puts out 280 Bhp and 300 lbs ft of torque. Suspension, brakes and transmission have all been modified accordingly to cope with the poke. 60 arrives in circa 5 seconds. What you want to do is get BGH Gearboxes to modify your Type 9 box- they can swop the ratio's on 1st, 2nd and 3rd to match those on the original 4 speed box. It completely transforms the drive- with the yawning gap between 1st and 2nd eradicated, it's a close ratio box effectively and the car is sharper in terms of acceleration, and much more pleasant to drive. The box is also massively strengthened by the fitment of a Granada spigot and much larger bearing to replace the original marginal front needle roller bearing. Well worth every penny- and it's not particularly expensive either. Win-Win scenario! Good luck with the Capri! :)

Beautiful car , my last Capri in 93 was identical to yours , it was the only 2.8 I had , all previous were various 3.0 S cars in the 80,s approx 9 of them , I loved them never owned any of the smaller engine cars , 1600 or 2000 , the V6 were totally different to drive , only a V6 owner or driver will know , Happy days Fords glory years , great memories for lots of us 👍

I had a 3.0 Ghia automatic on a W plate in Gold. Was the nuts, i was the envy of all my college mates at the time but God was it juicy to run on limited funds 🤣

Very nice Capri , the sunroof has a black button under the Handel you need to switch so the sunroof will tilt and the back again for it to go back as many people forget .

Just found your channel and subbed..... That's a very nice car you have there.....👍 I owned a black 3.0 s for ten years and used it as my daily drive and loved it.... I had to sell in the end due to moving to another country and I really miss it.. Cheers

Lovely looking Capri you have got there looking forward to your updates My Capri 2.8i had the same popping on the exhaust sadly turned out to be increased valves in the heads so I had it converted to run on unleaded. But short term you could get away with adjusting tablets if his is what your problem is.

Had the mark1 86 XR4X4 with a muther Garret with same Cologne in, relied in Haynes manual that stated ok to run on lead free after a certain build. It burn the valves out in a few months. Tell tale sign coming to a stop or slowing you had to keep the engine running and could take 1 minute to rev again. Easy enough to do both cast iron heads, sure i paid £160 in 1998 pus new water pump. Hate to think the cost nowadays.

Nice, in the 90s these where 2 a penny, i hated them.thought they where a poor take on a yank car, My pal had a 2.8i blue over silver y plate, real clean, 15 brooklands wheels etc, still i was not a fan.he kept that for years only selling it a few years ago. Today i do appreciate a capri, not enough to pay what they fetch, i would get a cortina or escort. Because thats what i drove then, also 2 a penny! Great vid look forward to more, on your many rides.

Great looking car, may I mention that the front overriders are missing and the rear wiper switch and rear washer, their positions should be reversed

Very nice, do the kids know you're spending their inheritance :) I have fond memories of Capris and have had a few over the years, my first was a tired £100 white 1.6 JPS Mk2 in the 80's (wish i had that now!) and i did my first ton in a 4 speed 2.8i, can you buy a Droopsnoot Firenza next please haha.

Hi mate, this is a later special so the wheels are correct for the car, the pepperpots were fitted from 81 to 85 then they changed to the 7 spokes, the special also had half leather and LSD (limited slip diff) 👍👍👍

Superb! , yes i have put this video on all the capri groups im in on facebook, i do that with all my vids but only in groups they are relavent to otherwise people moan lol, this capri is my 14th ! The only engine size ive not had is the earlier 3.0, one day maybe ! 👍👍👍

Hi mate they are great motors, i would say though that the special came out on a B reg so I would think the one you had was a standard 2.8 ? With cloth interior and pepperpot wheels ? If it had all the special bits on then maybe someone upgraded it ? All the best MEC 👍👍

Yes had Steel wheels on and singing and dancing.It was blue with stripe on side panels.Every wheel stamped with reg on.Wish i never sold it but log book and said Special it was on a private plate.So not sure of year got pulled for the plate spacing not correct

I own 2 2.8 specials, Rosso red & Stratos silver… They do look great in black… yours looks fab though the the side stripes should be red over silver not silver over red, just thought I’d mention it for originality. Ps we need more capri videos please!
