sooo, my rear left regulator just crapped out, lowered the window, and when coming up, cable snapped so it got stuck open. Cable also got stuck in the window track and that made it almost impossible to move it out. I had to push it up by hand and use a wisegrip to hold window up lol. @WJHandyDad Жыл бұрын
mine needed no adjustment... worked right out of the box
@rickytoombs6561 Жыл бұрын
So. Let me see if I understand you. The regulator(the piece that the windows bolts to) It doesn't mater where that is set(up or down) or in the middle. I should be able install the motor and the motor will stop at the top and at the bottom. So it doesn't matter what position the motor gear in in it should work. Like if the motor came out while the window was all the up. I can put the window all the way down and put the same motor back in and everything will work fine??

Can you over tighten the window bolts through the white plastic and break the window because i need to tighten mine so it sits correctly when its all the way up I have a gap athe the back
@WJHandyDad4 жыл бұрын
I would say anything is possible so I would be reluctant to guess at what point something could be overtightened enough to break the glass. Proceed with caution if you're doing something outside of spec
@vicquartz72774 жыл бұрын
J. Burroughs, did you have a "gap" on the window and door when fully raised, or where the window connects to regulator plate? If the window and door, have you fixed it yet? I have everything replaced and motor seems to work, regulator seems fine, everything is tightened down and seems to be seated properly. Window lowers great, but when it is raised up the top of window slightly tips forward and slows down at about 3 inches from being fully closed. I can hear motor strain at that point, and motor stops at about 1/2 inch from window being shut which I'm certain is because it becoming wedged. I can't figure out why window is tipping forward and not closing properly.

ATTENTION!!! DO NOT REMOVE THE DOOR HANDLE!!! I just finished replacing the regulator and motor on my '09 p71. I found that if you pull the plug for the motor away from the hole, you can access the forward window rivet without removing the door handle bracket. It was almost like that hole was placed there specifically for that. If you need to replace this on your crown vic, check to see if it works for you.
