It warms my heart watching the kids all over the project. It would be interesting to have a "question meter" keeping track of how many questions are being asked. Brings back fond memories.

Tons of questions. She learned the difference between a bolt and a nut, also what washers are used for.

Your work ethic and analytical skills are supreme. So many times I've come across electrical ghosts in my cars. I enjoy watching you overcome those nagging electrical and system issues that plague most cars made today. Keep on fighting the good fight!

Man o man!!! U ain’t just a prima donna Hy Tech Scan Boy. U know how to get it on down and dirty. Loved the Allen wrench trick!! U must of got it pretty near perfect otherwise u would have set a cam crank correlation code. Doing that on the floor with a creeper was not easy. Super impressed!! Lovely family!!!

Actually, I think it would have been hard to be off by much if you just eyeballed it. The space between the teeth on the chain would have needed several degrees to be off for it to even get to the next tooth. But good trick with the allen key and bolt!

Well done! Glad to see that thing running again. I'm glad I'm not the only one who will pull and all-nighter finishing a car...without even any food. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of your assistant. She stayed on task throughout that entire hoist assembly. She's got the bug!

Kudos to using the instruction manual for the hoist assembly. Lot of mechanics would tough it out.

That exploder is clean underneath here in the great white north you need a torch to remove most bolts the rust. stay safe Eric you jave a great apprentice I'm glad you survived the engine swap nightmare 👍

Thank you for the video! Enjoyed it! I've been told when buying an engine from a salvage yard be wary of the car donors that were overturned because you don't know if the engine ran with the car upside down with no oil pressure. Seems like you did well though. Really cute helper! Know you are proud!

Good job Eric! You're a hard worker that needs all the Lord's blessings....Be sure to use only 100% synthetic oil to prevent the sludge from happening in that engine...If you're on a budget, use the Walmart Super Tech Synthetic oil...It's a very good oil for the price without going crazy price of the name brands...

yup i think super tech oils are just fine. wal mart can sell it for the $ they do because they buy massive amounts and put it in their own jugs. it meets or exceeds the latest API standards

I have one even better. Watch a guy on YT called Farm Project. He actually performed a test between all of the synthetic oils. They’re basically all the same. Look at the labels on all the bottles. Again, basically the same.

Good job on timing jig,,I had the same issue, I had to swap engine in 04 sportrac ,because of timing guides falling apart, shops up here wanted 2 to 2.5 k to swap engine,,so I took it upon myself,,it took me around 26 hours..you know when u do it yourself,just think of the money u save and the quality of job done.👍

Tengo un problema igual con una 2006 mismo ruido ,,y supuestamente mi mecanico decia que solo era el temsor delante de la cadena,,y que se lo cambio ,,hoy que manejo la camioneta veo que sgue con el mismo problema ,,cuando voy en alta velocidad no hay problema ,pero cuando llego a una luz o paro la camionte empieza ese sonido como "cascabeleo" y no se le quita hasta que le piso el gas {acelerador} y desaparece,croeo que es del mismo problema. gracis brother por tu esfuerzo ,tu habilidad y conocimiento, me ayudo mucho a comprender este gran problema.

FordTechMakuloco has videos for replacing the chains on these. Tells you everything about this. IIRC you have to remove the jackshaft to get that gear out.....I may be totally wrong though.

I just did a timing chain on a 4.0 and you have take out the shaft to get the cog out and that bolt you took out is a one time use bolt

Dang.... you have Northern tool by you! LUCKY!. Yeah, that's the Mustang's common state, at least around here. Young kids think they know how to drive, speed, and not used to the rear wheel drive vehicles.

Jackshaft has to be pulled forward . And that means replacing front chains . I just did that job . You need the tool to time engine. Ebay has tool for 80 dollars . Well worth money .
