I had same problem Ithe top clicked in and when I look inside the clicked in part is not not attached to the molding anymore. :( I read this on some of the Amazon part reviews too.

I forgot to mention, thank you for the video, it really helps to see it isnt as intimidating as it looks, specially when u have the same year explorer. Hope is still on strong. I lost mine recently and it just an eye sore. I cant stop worrying because it been raining alot here in TX and i dont have a garage. Ty for linking the products you used. 🙏🏻👍🏻

It’s also worth noting that the adhesive strip on those aftermarket parts is pretty shitty. It’s recommended by most windshield guys to use a small bead of urethane windshield adhesive in a few spots on the very inside edge of the rubber seal Making sure the pressure applied to the outer piece doesn’t cause the glue to seep out. Hope that helps. Also, for anyone wanting to know, Summit Racing has the whole set of two of them by PRP for $175. Best to do both sides at the same time. WKT-D1843 is the part number

Now Ford has finally decided to issue a recall for this! Recalled as a Safety hazard as this piece can fly off during driving and poss a risk to other motorists on the road they state in the recall. My piece flew off last week. I'm trying to decide to wait on the recall to take effect in mid-March or buy an aftermarket and put it on myself.

I just did mine as its 50 bucks and the recall wait and dropping the thing off at ford who will most likely just replace it

Its true, I checked for the recall but there is no remedy as of yet. They may issue one mid 2024.

I just lost my driver side panel 🤬 thankfully no one got hurt. How is your replacement holding off ? I heard ford finally made them as a recall. I am afraid to wait for them to fix it. Debating to get some replacement meanshile because i dont want to deal with water damage (if it takes long, not sure how safe it is, to leave it as is) 😢 my entire windshield needs replacing. So i am looking at a heavy replacement bill even with the recall.

Yes the long I have this Explorer the more I miss the 1999 which was built great and easy to service went 276K before the rust got it and the 1994 before it got to 390K
