Ford F150 Door Latch Issue

When I had a 2017 Ford F150 XLT that when it got cold outside in the winter the door wouldn't latch it got me a little concerned, but thought, I have warranty and Ill bring it in and get it fixed. However, after a total of 3 trips to the dealer it they finally fixed the problem. Yes, I wasn't very happy but I learned something and made sure to double check the doors on the 2021 Ford F150 XLT I purchased in April of 2021. Now this is for sure a different issue as in the winter I didn't have the same problem of not latching, which I wanted to go through the entire season before recording this. With these 2021s they have more weather stripping around all the doors to decrease interior noise and increase aerodynamics. This makes for a tightly sealed truck, which is what has been causing my issues with the rear passenger door. The air that is trapped in the vehicle can't escape out of the truck fast enough so it creates a air bubble if you will and the door doesn't close all the way. Regardless it doesn't happen all the time but I wanted any other Ford truck guys to just test out the doors before purchasing.
Shoot me a comment if you want me to do a video about any other parts of the truck. I for sure could give you my take on the 10 speed trans, drive modes, wind noise, comfort or anything for that matter!

I have the same problem with my 2018 F150 Platinum. You all know how expensive this truck was. So far, I’ve had to repair the sunroof, had to replace the cam chain tensioner and phaser, now this frozen door nonsense, and the BIGGEST problem….now a failing transmission (10R80 10-speed trash). A replacement tranny will cost about $7,500 with labor. I had a Tundra prior to this F150 and have regretted buying the Ford since nearly day 1. The worst part is that I knew Ford’s were garbage, but I bought it foolishly thinking they may have improved over the years. I will NEVER buy another Ford and will never let anyone in my house buy one! Done!

My 2020 f150 my passanger door says it not closed but its actually closed and id it locks but still says its not closed . What is that problem?

Mine has issues too , if it’s too cold outside door didn’t latch it takes time to fixed it self trying and trying 😏

as agreed by experience, I removed all the weather stripping from my f150 shelby truck on the body side conclusion the doors close better!!!

Some scum bag jammed a big flathead screw driver into my door handle to break in and I’m in the middle of trying to get the lock and latch fixed

@@TheGuyThatWondersWhy sorry man. It was mainly and fyi and turns out it did "break in" over time and now shuts and latches as it should. Have a good one and thanks for the comment!

Hello I have a beautiful 2021 Ford F150 Shelby, super nice truck I just saw your video on the doors of the f150 I have the same problem as seen in your video. my front passenger door closes badly and bounces, (almost all doors do) you have to slam them really hard to close them an air vacuum must be created inside the cabin it's true that on the new f series trucks there are seals really everywhere so the truck is very airtight do when you close the doors they make a nice very deaf noise What to do with that? I might try removing the passenger side door seals to see what happens. maybe you should make a video on the door seals of the f150 it can be interesting

@@BigbeardMN the multiple door seals of the new f series trucks must contribute to this the interior air cannot escape from the truck (too airtight) a video of the door seals to also see the thickness of the seals would be interesting I'm still going to try to remove one of the door seals of the truck to see if it's better
