Obviously I'm not a motor journalist but I do enjoy my cars. Having daily driven both for 2+ years, I would say that as only fun goes they are pretty even with the new one just edging it BUT as cars overall like the interior, creature comforts like auto headlights, android auto/carplay, riding comfort when just driving from A to B, the new one is a LOT better.
@TheDoctor46vr Жыл бұрын
@@alexm6340 interesting, I have had the ST180 for a year now, I had the ST150 before that. I've heard the opposite, car journalists have generally said the ST180 has the edge in the driving experience, still. Being a bit more mad, stating the MK8 has been watered down, but only slightly. Now my love for Ford has turned to hate since they are bending at the knees over this green propaganda bullshit. But atleast Hyundai came out of nowhere with the BMW engineer that completely revitalised the company with epic performance cars. This BMW engineer is still fighting to keep internal combustion performance cars alive so they'll have my money next if he wins the good fight. ps. Too be honest I'll get an 86 but if I was going to get a hot hatch...

Can you do a comparison of the Fiesta ST against the BRZ/ GR86? Both affordable by proper fun cars, with very different approaches! I’m interested to see your thought because I’d love to buy the new Fiesta ST, but am currently weighting up against the GR86!
@giupy86 Жыл бұрын
What have you ended up with? I personally bought both, 2023 Fiesta ST and GR86, two totally different cars...
@alexecristian9376 ай бұрын
@@giupy86I know the GR86 is a better sports car, but how close does the Fiesta ST come to it?
@giupy866 ай бұрын
@@alexecristian937 In this regard both of them are impressively fun cars to drive, one has the advantage of the high torque and "punch" of the turbo and one has the advantage of the higher available rpms due to its naturally aspirated engine... For daily use I prefer the ST as this is more practical than the GR86, even though the latter can be used as a daily without major issues. But of course, if I had to only choose one, I would personally go with the GR86 as it is just a nicer and special place to be sitting in, and the rear wheel drive capabilities is something that retains the concept of a true sports car... I have the fortune to own both and I enjoy every single moment in them, but for a daily driving perspective, the ST is a bit more practical, you can carry 3 more people, and thanks to its turbo you can easily overtake without the need to downshift thanks to its impressive torque... Regarding the ride quality in italian roads, the ST is just too stiff to have a comfortable ride in, you feel every little bump. Regarding noise, the ST is more comfortable at highway speeds. The opposite is true for the GR86, ride quality is a little better due to the slightly softer setup, but the road noise at highway speeds is almost unbearable...Just my point of view.
