Ford focus 1.0 ecoboost engine noise episode 1

Hi everybody
In this video I am working on ford focus 1.0 ecoboost engine, the engine runs stable but there is a noise coming after starting of the car about 1 minute, first i found blockage on oil pump Filter Suction Nozzle, i cleaned and start the engine, but the noisey sound did not disappear completly, i checked the compression, i found low pressure on cyl3. I used inspection camera to see if there is any damage in the cylinder. I saw many marks inside the cylinder.

Had a very similar noise from a 1.0 EcoBoost. Initially, it was the oil pump running dry because of a build-up on the pickup gauze. Unfortunately, the low oil pressure also caused the turbo bearing to fail. Ended up having to strip the oil pump and clean it out and fit a new turbo. Those marks on the cylinder bore look nasty. Hope you are able to fix it. May need a block.

Hello friend I have replaced the pistons after honing the cylinder and install new timing belt but I need to replace the turbo.

Hello, I have a Ford Focus 1.0 ecoboost and out of nowhere the car went in limp mode and started idling rough and misfiring, I scanned it and these 3 codes came up: P000A U0046 P188E Do you have any idea what this could be caused by Thanks

Hello, It is not easy to know exact what is the fault, did you check engine fuel pressure, or if there is leaking in the intake manifold, or timing issue.

I just replaced the whole brand new motor from ford and the turbo but the same noise is there on a 2018 ford focus 1.0, does anyone else know what else i’m thinking maybe the torque converter bolts ?

I have same issue with my ecoboost 1.0 on cylinder 2. I don’t have any engine management light on yet. Any idea what causes this damage to occur. Mine has 44,000 miles with full Ford service history. Thanks

It's common failure on this engine but If oil be changed before the service time, it will protect the components in the engine.

The problem is they don’t make cars how they use to they make them cheap and rubbish.and put big price tag on them..your better off buying a classic car goes for ever

I have the same problem. The car mechanic replaced the three half engines with overhauls. After starting the engine, the piston on the second cylinder is damaged. When I checked error codes was P0302:92-EC - Misfire Detected in Cylinder #2, P0300:92-6C - Detected Random Misfire, P132B:21-68 - Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control #A Performance, U0046:88-28 - Vehicle Communication Bus #C. Can anyone help?
