I was very sceptical about this fix, the stop/start hadn't been working for quite a while which I thought was due to only doing short journeys and the battery maybe not being fully charged, however, I gave it a try and it worked, great, simple and not to mention a free tip. Thanks

Really methodical video in fault tracing, good job. It makes diagnostics so much more effective when having access to good wiring diagrams, topology, and locations. I think we struggle here in the uk so much more on available data as opposed to our friends across the pond ( as keith defazio would say). Thats where i lose so much time is behind a computer screen building a wiring layout, autodata then on to alldata then to haynes pro, it just gets so time consuming as well as information is not cheap. Anyway really enjoyed your thought process.

Excellent video! Thank you very much for your hard work. I’ve got the same problem and your video has helped me to understand what may be wrong. How much would it cost now days to fix something like this? I just don’t want to get ripped off. Thank you
@SYDiagnostics2 жыл бұрын
Diagnosis costs are a tough one. A decent garage would discuss it with you and outline an initial time scale they'd want to carry out any necessary checks etc, then any extra time will need to be negotiated. Fixing the issue is the easy part I'm afraid, finding the issue is the skill

"Just a bendt pin" How many would have gone highwire stripping down miles with electric tape first. Nice job. Well done. Have a question, how much time do you get to troubleshoot something like this? Is it like work on it till it is fixed, or do you go between cars?

this was a pretty quick fix, so i was on it until diagnosed and fixed. Usually i'm given and initial 1hr and then im onto other cars

Professional, at the highest level. Keep it up! I have focus 2012 and forscan, and playing with it a little. What is that softver that you use for network test, does it require special hardware or can it work with the same device used by forscan (Vgate vLinker fs)?

Its a different lay out on the Mk3. There are plugs in that area, but without looking at a diagram and knowing your concerns, it'd be hard to say

I have a Ford Smax 2.2 tdci 2008, the instument cluster intermittently seems the loose comms and the radio flickers on and off. I've had it resoldered on the main pcb connector but it's still doing the same thing. Going back some time I had the alarm sounder disconnected as it had water ingress and caused window wipers to go on and off on their own. Would the alarm sounder disconnection cause issues with the cluster? Any ideas? Also where are you based, I'm a DIYer but this seems beyond my skill set..

I've known the harness rub down the side of the centre console near the radio etc. It's clipped to the metal frame and the can wires short

Hi I also got a Ford focus MK4 with several electronic issues (from time to time). Front camera errors, batterij voltage error, also that pre-collision warning and then it goes into limpmode, sometime the addaptive suspension gets extremely firm settings while driving (car off/on then it's back to factory settings). The start/stop only works 1 day/year and that is why the garage recommends me to change the battery since it's capacity is below a threshold and why the start/stop function is not working. But I'm not convinced why that is a reason why the other errors are occuring. I also have troubles with main the drivers window not being shut automatically because it believes that halfway up there is an obstruction and it goes back down. Then they recommended me to disconnect the battery for >20min but that never worked to relearn the stop position. Yet I believe by disconnecting the battery, the sensor that is reading the voltage may be de-calibrated. Still I don't believe that is the only main issue even after having all the latest updates, it's still unsuccesful. What would you recommend as steps in a diagnose? I have the forscan app on a mobile phone with a bluetooth OBD2 connector, so I could read the errors myself, i believe.
