I have the same problem. I went to more than one maintenance store, and everyone told me the problem was from the car's computer, but after I saw the video, I worked like what I said and I was able to solve it with the same explanation, and now the air conditioner works perfectly, thank you.

Hardest part was buying the resistor 1/4 Watt 33k-ohm resister, just stuffed the two wires into the correct pins, a bit of hot glue to hold them in place, A/C worked like a charm - $1 part saves me $1000 repair.

We have the exact same problem with our 2011 Fusion. Passenger AB recall fix in April 2019, then, AC goes bad in June 2019. Bring it in: needs new hoses and a charge: $500. Still doesn't work right. Now they want $800 to fix the sensor that they broke on the AB fix. Is there a class action on this yet?

Did this and it worked perfectly. I had to disconnect the battery. When the battery was reconnected, the key was in the on position and the A/C was on with the resistor still in place. Something must have blown because the hack no longer works and the mode actuator doesn't switch from vent to def or floor. I tried doing the fix again nothing. I put the wiring back to original nothing. Checked fuses and relays. Help!

@triggscain328

I checked as much as I could with the fuses, relays and wiring. I wanted up taking it to a mechanic who changed out the evaporator but it had lingering issues. The control would not switch between defrost, vent and floor. I was told I had a bad head unit. Bought and changed it 3xs thinking I had a bad unit (the reviews say it's a possibility on the aftermarket ones from Autozone). Took it back to the mechanic who did the same thing and also changed the actuator. Nothing worked. My mechanic gave up saying it was probably a wiring issue. I took it to Ford. They said it was the evaporator. I tried to explain what my mechanic had done, but they insisted. I agreed to let them pull the dash. They changed the evap sensor, 2 actuators and a bracket. Still didn't work. They changed the head unit. That didn't work and they put my old one back. I kept arguing with them that it was a wiring issue. They said it wasn't. A week later they said my car was ready. Turns out it was a wiring issue. But they didn't tell me that until I asked them a million times. They would not say what they did and at that point the service advisor became very short w me. They did give me a break on the labor rate but it still cost me $1800 not including the head unit I bought from zone for $200, pluss all of my time without a car. If you are good at tracing and replacing wire, you will probably find the wire that the hack was done on is fried.. at least one of them. If you can run a replacement wire, it would probably be the best place to start. Sadly, had I taken it to my mechanic in the first place, he knows a trick, I'm assuming others do too, to cut an access panel under the dash without pulling it. They can replace that way. Would have cost about $200 if I had done that. Live and learn I guess. Good luck to you.

If I parked my car in basement the ac will not work if turn on the car engine. 01 ) I have repalced the Compressor 02 ) I have replaced two relays in front fuse box which was purchased from Ford warehouse 03) Technician checked all the wiring. 04) I have changed two temperature sensor, one under the hood and second inside the Dash board. Can I install/wire the evaporator sensor instead of the resistor in the same connection points?
@chrish7255
@chrish7255 Жыл бұрын
Probably not because you applying a certain resistance to a certain part of the circuit, not sure the sensor will have the same resistance. If you are trying to replace the sensor you could check a wiring diagram and see if it works. I think unlikely because then you will have two sensors in parallel circuit.

I have an 08 & the only way my AC will work is if I turn put it at the 1 setting at a complete stop, let it get all the way down to reasonable temp, & then I can run it like normal unless it gets cold again. It affects engine performance & everything if I don't let it warm up, man, this shit is so nerve wracking.

@@chrish7255 I found a 36k 1/2 watt but they look like a smaller wire and size than the one you have. I did everything but it seems to not be working. I do get some cold at times but then back and forth with warm air blowing. Are the wires to be snug and tight so when you pull on them they don't come out? These wires are very thin and I'm wondering if they are making good contact or have a good connection. I'm not exactly sure where your wires are from the video.

I wanna do this, because I’ve confirmed this is my issue with my cars air conditioning system. However, my only concern by bypassing the sensor, won’t this cause the a/c compressor to continuously run without proper regulation and possibly causing my evaporator to freeze and or potentially cause the a/c compressors to get worn out quicker?
@chrish7255
@chrish7255 Жыл бұрын
Yes, if you have the AC on the compressor will run continuously. If doing a long journey I will turn off say every 20-30 minutes and run ambient air through. Because there is a little bit of ice in the evaporator this has the double benefit of cooling that ambient air and also defrosting the evaporator. You are right, a little bit of manual intervention will be required on longer journeys. But if living somewhere hot, like say Texas, if pull outside air in it’s difficult to freeze on a hot sunny day.
