The Gulf livery is the sexiest look for one of these. It’s incredible how much their value has increased over the years.

These cars and your video give me butterflies for the GT all over again. You can see a ton of the features in Interior styling crossed to the Mustangs of today like my 2011 GT.

I love the inclusion of the commercials,very well done spots and presentation. At the 2015 NAIAS, I filmed all 3 generations of the GT, but this early 2000's is my favorite.

Even though the GT 40 was around in the 60’s they were not sold to the public. But the first North American Supercar was the Detomaso Pantera in 1971 powered by the ford 351 cleaveland and ford transmission. These cars were sold at Ford dealerships for four years I believe.
@TonysFordsandMustangs6 ай бұрын
I don't consider the de Tomaso Pantera an American car. Yes they were powered by a Ford Engine, sold at Lincoln-Mercury dealerships and Ford had an ownership stake in De Tomaso however they were not a badged Ford product. They were produced by Italian automobile manufacturer in Italy and therefore not American. You are welcome to disagree and I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment.

I really love these. My two all time favorite Fords are the GT40 and the BOSS 429 Mustang. The closest I will ever get to owning either one will only be if the one I have was made by Hot Wheels. I wasn't too thrilled with the second generation GT40 because I felt the design just strayed too far from the original.

FIRST? Now, wait a minute! No disrespect for uncle Henry with GT40 and Shelby with Cobra, but first FULLY AMERICAN supercar was Vector W8 (or Mosler Consulier GTP, depends on your preferences).
@TonysFordsandMustangs6 ай бұрын
No disrespect taken. Vector only made 22 of those cars so I wouldn't consider it a production supercar.

Isn't The Car Sold By Superformance A Better Value & A-lot More Like The Original Cars Of The '60's? Thank You.
@TonysFordsandMustangs6 ай бұрын
I'm not familiar with Superformance's cars. I guess it depends on what you want out of a car. I like driving my 70 mach 1 but for track use I would prefer my 2022 mach over it anyday.

First supercar? We all know about the cobra's and gt40s. Any blue oval man worth his salt couldn't forget that Ford briefly owned Pantera in the late 70s and early 80s
@TonysFordsandMustangs6 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. The Cobras were Shelby's cars, The GT40's were race production only and not available to the public, Ford began importing the Pantera for the American market to be sold through its Lincoln-Mercury dealers but they were not Ford cars even though they were powered by a 351.

I don't understand why the ford GT was only produced in 2005 and 2006 only, was the GT such a sales flop that Ford quickly abandoned the GT almost immediately after it came out for 2005?
@TonysFordsandMustangs4 ай бұрын
It was too expensive to build and it was more of a promotional vehicle than an actual production car. It wasn’t a flop at all.
