£29,995 in UK for the basic model. I think that’s too much for the range - it is competitive now but I expect this won’t come it until well into 2025. Needs to be £24,995.
@oliverstemp9132Ай бұрын
@@ISuperTedI’m waiting for it to be about £25 😂. Have you actually seen how much the petrol Puma costs? The electric isn’t that expensive.
@ISuperTedАй бұрын
@@oliverstemp9132 Yes, all expensive really, but it needs to have at least 280 miles claimed range for £30k in todays market. With the battery it’s got, people will go with the Stellantis cars that are £5K cheaper or more.Saying that, given most are leased it will depend a lot of what the leasing rates are - they may be heavily discounted.

It must be really tough for motor manufacturers at this time with governments forcing electric car sales and fines etc. I imagine that car prices are getting much higher than the actual production costs just so they can cover the expected fines. This is such a shame. How is it that governments can dictate this when it is people that buy the things and of they don’t want them manufacturer’s are penalised. What an odd world we live in. We have seen the problems with all manufacturers in the UK and on the continent and it must be so disheartening for them. The Chinese companies must be laughing their heads off over this downfall and filling the gaps regardless of any tariff increase as their costs and overheads must be so much lower. Furthermore, all these manufacturers have a huge range of cars to sell and support. A company, say like Tesla, sells 2 cars in the UK and a total of 4 worldwide. Can you imagine, if say Volkswagen, sold 4 types of car what they could achieve. Always enjoy your reviews Mark and brilliant that you get invited to all these launches.

Nobby, another great review. Seems to be a nice car with good range, if it is accurate! Price is not bad but depends on what competitors like Kia will be charging. If it was under €30,000 they would have a winner.
@stevejewiss5322 ай бұрын
It won’t get anywhere near that range , do the figures , most EVs get around 3 miles per KWH and this thing does 130 miles ! Not so good now is it ! To get the figures Ford quote it would have to be as efficient as a Tesla , and that’s not going to happen with an ICE car converted to an EV !

Liking the muck box in the Puma boot … but EV3 is gonna walk all over it… Puma battery way too small … they’re doing a Stellantis - well, if you want something physically smaller than a 5008. Fine for around town and short commutes - but if you’re into going on regular excursions, a bigger battery is the order of the day. Still think that the Hyundai/Kia 64kW is a kind of price-to-range sweet spot. Just been driving friends’ cars over the past week - a newish , runout model Fiesta, and an older (22years!) Ibiza. Both, perfectly lovely cars to drive, but the “balm of the calm” getting back into the Soul was just lovely … effortless. Or maybe, it’s that I’m getting too old 😂!!

For that battery size and only having a peak charging power of 100 kWp, it seems to have a very flat charging curve achieving really good 78kW on average on an ideal 10 to 80% charging session. This means that a normal 10 to 80 session shouldn’t take more than 23 minutes, which is ok compared to other similar cars.

Good review. I've had many Fords over the years and the Puma is a great car. However the price is ambitious for a revamped ICE car up against serious competition. Only the kuga phev, diesel etc or the puma which my wife has her second gen one , as it’s a lovely car. The capri is ugly . I like the explorer we but no phev option. I think they have made a huge mistake getting rid of the bread and butter focus. Who has €40-50,000 to spend on a car? Hence the lay offs in Ford.

You’re feeding the anti EV agenda because you say this is great it’s range is ok bla blah blah and yet if you actually do the figures it would have to be more efficient than a Tesla to get that figure ! On your average 3 miles per KWH this thing will only do 130 miles ! 130 miles ! For 30 grand ! Please don’t keep giving the anti EV mob ammunition and stop supporting companies like Ford that really are fudging their figures ! I just why the feeling you’ve all been paid by Ford to say good things !

First of all, I haven’t been paid by anyone. I make revenue from KZbin, exclusively. Secondly, WLTP figures are quoted in a release of a car when I haven’t driven a vehicle yet. When I have, I will give real world consumption as I do in all of the videos that I have produced. Now, imagine I walked into YOUR place of work and SH*T all over your work in front of your superiors. That’s exactly what you’ve done in my video without any basis or proof of what you’ve spouted off on so forgive me if I have little time for mouthpieces like yourself. If you’re that bothered about anti EV people, you should get yourself a hobby. Have a GREAT day.
@stevejewiss5322 ай бұрын
@ Applogies but it’s really not difficult to work out the range , and as I said you should be taking people like Ford to task on this . The anti EV lot hang on everything to do with EVs and use it as a bat to hit them with and Ford are doing that no favours , they’re not even doing themselves favours because when someone goes into a Ford showroom or watches your video they’ll think great 234 miles I’ll have that , then it does 130 . I’ve watched all the Puma EV reviews and not one crriticises the small battery , I do apologise for taking it out on yours , yours was the last one I saw , but what Ford is doing does not help the EV side of things and I suppose I’m more angry with them , so again I apologise . By the way I think you do a great job your videos are some of the best . Maybe with the new Jag and this I lost the will to live a bit .
