The testing I'd like to see is a towing MPG loop towing the same trailer at equal speed. last mpg loop the Rivian pulled slower at 55 average. I'm liking the new trailer and at 7000 is a good weight for all to tow.

In an early test it was about 0.2 seconds. Not much. It's 12% more power and 8% more weight. The net difference isn't much in 0-60.

It made a significant difference on the F150 hybrid vs 3.5 V6. Toyota has definitely chosen to make their system a lot less rev happy than Ford. That can really hurt off the line times, but it has shown on the Ike to be a nice choice for towing and using the very low power band both 3.5 variations have, Ford and Toyota. TFL will be sure to get a regular production model to test out. They had a pre-production model initially. If I remember right.

You read my mind. The hybrid has 12% more power but 22% more torque than the standard TT V6 (and a whopping 15% more power and 45% more torque!) than the old V8. I hope they do some good testing of the hybrid vs standard Tundra.

Been watching your channel for years now, love the content. It would be really nice to see channels such as yours really address the issues with the current truck/car market. The reality is that it’s close to impossible to purchase ANY of the trucks you all review on a regular basis, let alone avoiding the “market adjustments.” I’d like to see channels like yours that have a voice use it to hold dealerships accountable for their business practices.

@shitloveaduck
@shitloveaduck 2 жыл бұрын
@@NWI_Steel - Shop around. Not all the dealerships are adding market price adjustments. I live in Alberta Canada & know of 4 Ford dealerships within 200 miles that are honest and a couple will even negotiate a bit off of MSRP, up to maybe $850, or so. I have a good friend that has a dealership and he has made substantial improvements to his main location and had to lease a location where a dealership used to be. He has that location for PDI and delivery of the new vehicles as they come in. That location is busier than the dealership location right now. He has so many special orders backlogged he sees at least a years worth of work so is trying to purchase the location from the receiver. He is so busy as there are a few dealerships, some not even Ford, that are padding the prices. The people that don’t want to pay markup, go to my buddy’s dealership. He is swamped with orders. The other dealerships that are padding the prices still sell some product as people assume they all do it. They really don’t all do it. My buddy’s lot is empty and even has very few used vehicles as he is fair in pricing those as well. As soon as a decent product hits the lot, it’s sold. The other dealers are sitting on reasonable inventories, not like before, but with the word out many buyers treat them as bad news leaving them with stagnant product on the lot, of all things. The biggest hit currently are the typical vehicles that get marked up in the USA. Some have returned to selling in a more ethical manner, but their reputations have been damaged and sales are not returning like they had before. It is really fun getting together with my buddy and his competitors even. They all have great working friendships and are amazing to listen to with their experiences and stories!! My buddy’s holding company is also invested in a Stelantis dealer and a Toyota dealership. It appears that price padding may be more prevalent in the USA, but every time I make this similar comment I hear from people that have bought for MSRP or slightly less in the USA. They are out there!!! Suspect it may mean a bit of travel, but if you save thousands, or tens of thousands on some vehicles,,,,,,,,

What? The raptor and trx show up in places like LA at the valet. Why? No truck guys buy those trucks because they absolutely suck at truck stuff. What a cool video...I love the Black Series trailers. I own a TRD supercharged 2015 Tundra Platinum 4x4 on 35's that will smoke the the tires with a trailer in tow in 2WD, but I think the TRX is the one vehicle I might trade it in for; that supercharged hemi engine combined with the AWD and 4-link rear setup is just awesome. My Tundra had to be highly modified to get where it is, but the TRX and the Raptor 37 are badass from the factory...about all I'd have to add is a winch, some extra trail lighting, and a retractable bed cover.

Sometimes I am floored by what the viewers want. They are an automotive review channel. If you have t noticed, they are very busy with little free time. Now you want 150 mile tow loops?? How much more are they going to learn in that distance vs 50 miles? Really,,,,,. You come up with 10 realistic additional items. Then while they are doing that, they are reviewing fewer vehicles potentially as there’s only so much revenue. They can’t go out hiring a bunch more staff. The giant towing loops are not going to bring in more viewers, just satisfy a vey small minority with your interests. There’s always a bigger picture. People won’t want to watch a 3 hour towing test, which probably is over 6 hours to complete not including the huge task of editing 3 hours of video,,,, FOR ONE TRUCK!! You will want to see a 20 minute video for 3 trucks,,,, summ up the information and move on,,,,, what a waste of time and resources. In the area I live in Canada, the most trailers behind trucks that are seen in the road are RVs. They are towing maybe 1 - 1.5 hours in traffic at most on average, sure there are some long hauls, but the weekenders, which cram up the highways on Friday’s and Sundays, are not going very far. 50 miles is highly representative. You are not being very reasonable in asking such an arduous and tedious task that takes them away from other reviews and tests.

My old 05 f150 with the 5.4 slug under the hood could barely knock off a 9.5 sec 0-60 unloaded on flat ground. A few bolt ons and tune with the new trucks and your easily beating some 1990’s performance car levels. Gotta remember when you hit a corner it’s still a 5000+lb truck though!

Altitude does not affect forced induction motors to nearly the extent it does for non forced induction motors. You maybe lose half a second in a quarter mile at 6000 ft.

37s are a gimmick. The only measurable it improves is ground clearance. It’s really just a show/talking piece for 37 owners. 99.9% of the owners will not use it off-road.

@@letitsnow3212 and beyond that it’s not built as an off-road truck I mean come on, it’s enormous and heavy It does pretty decent as a desert runner for a service vehicle on a Baja team but that’s about it As you said, for 99% of the people it’s an $80,000 show off truck that probably never sees a gravel road and no more than a bag of mulch in the bed

Great comparison but Base engine in one vs top trim level engine options in the other 2 ? Even if it doesn’t make a big difference it should be the top trim level engine options in all three respective trucks. Love the channel!

Technically the V6 in the Raptor 37 is the base engine too. The V8 Raptor R comes out later this year. The only other engine for the Tundra is the Hybrid, which is not out yet.

The actual base Tundra SR engine makes 348hp and 405 torque, so this Tundra is more the mid level engine.

We already know the Rivian will smoke all off them 0 to 60 (3.4 seconds) And if you saw toughest towing test we know how it accelerates towing(834th power 900 foot pounds of torque). And with the rivian launch edition price of $75,000 it cheaper than a Ford raptor and Dodge TRX. Just wait for the Hummer EV, Ford lightning and the Chevy Silverado EV. They’re all going to be fast and powerful, the new American muscle.

@@GarcBomber I have to agree with you there it ain't much for towing distance and it definitely not a work truck. But these EV trucks coming out of gonna be damn sure fun to drive with speed in power.. And their going to hurt feeling of quite a few so-called super cars and tuner cars drive at red light.

I don't think it means anything but the Tundra took 8.5 more seconds to get to 60. The Raptor took about 7 seconds more and the TRX about 5.2 seconds more. I suppose you could say the trailer hurt the Raptor about 18% less than the Tundra and it hurt the TRX about 26% less than the Raptor? Does this mean anything?
@ALMX5DP
@ALMX5DP 2 жыл бұрын
Probably speaks to the power/torque band and the area under the curve they’re able to utilize. Just peak figures show Tundra having 7% less torque than the Raptor, and the Raptor 22% less than the TRX.
