I need this to go drive errands and get to and from my work as anesthesiologist. Both the grocery store and my job are less than 1 mile away but F-750 is necessary for the flat clean streets that are well lit year round. These are the best cars to leave your blinker off and high beam on while cruising the passing lane 10mph under. Thank you, ford.

You know these are commercial trucks right? He said they are going to be fitted with dump box shortly. I mean even I think that is over the top for an anesthesiologist.

These are quite interesting trucks. The actual cab is the same Super Duty cab Ford introduced in 1999 and used through 2016. It is physically wider and taller than the current Super Duty cab. The headlights are the same as the 2008-2010 Super Duty. The interior is a mix of old and new. The dash is from the 2011-2016 Super Duty. However, the steering wheel is from the current F150, and the lighting controls are from the 2015-2020 F150. These trucks can come with air brakes and glad hands. Only spring suspension is offered, but the components are class competitive. The real wildcard is the Ford engine and transmission. Older 650/750 trucks could come with Cummins or Cat power and Allison transmissions. Now it’s a detuned 6.7L Ford and a somewhat modified 10R140 transmission. These trucks can be a good value and service is available everywhere.

Does that mean I could buy a cab shell and fit it to my 2006 F350 and put all my interior in it? Mine's rusted out but the interior is mint
@tylermacconnell21711 ай бұрын
Same cab, but I doubt Ford is selling just the cabs. 2016 Super Duty pickup is the same, maybe look for one in a salvage yard.
@MacPhee_Ford11 ай бұрын
You're right, some parts/designs are quite old but it works. Function over form is the most important with these trucks. Doesn't have to be pretty it just has to work as intended. Good points!
@tylermacconnell21711 ай бұрын
I actually like seeing the old cab still in production. Being that its a bit wider inside than the current Super Duty cab, I think that's a plus in a big truck like this. The truck is still pretty good looking, especially with the chrome package, the forged aluminum rims, and if the vertical exhaust stack option is ordered.

Just out of curiosity what is the sticker price on these before and after the dump box is installed?
@MacPhee_Ford11 ай бұрын
The chassis are about $110,000-$120,000 depending on configuration. The box costs about $35-45,000 depending on material and features which would price it around $150,000 for the fully complete dump truck. These are Canadian prices though so keep that in mind

It's basically the same truck. Ford did this with the F-250 and F-350 super duties in the past too, they were a decade behind the F-150 because "If it ain't broke then don't fix it" applies to work trucks especially.

In the past they waited atleast till summer 2024 to call it a 2025. Calling these trucks 2025 that still ahve elements 2005 in them is absurd. And commercial vehicles dont sit on the lot a year to justify that :)
