Best showing of the Transit cargo space that I've seen, thanks! ☮️❤️😎

Thanks. I'm 6' and looking at the eTransit medium roof. I don't plan to put in a floor. I'd like to remove one of two of the roof ribs where they connect in front of the side door.

It would be a little tight to stand up in the medium roof but not impossible at the same time. Curious.. are you using it for a business or converting to an electric camper?

@@CarsWithSteve I have a custom and unique design in mind for mixed use where I install a back firewall and camp very stealth and rustic in the front, but still use the back of the van like a workshop. I'm doing this with a much smaller van (video on my channel). I likely be tempted to fabricate a large custom hatch or solar roof which I know sounds crazy or brave on brand new EV van.

Great idea! Shooting a video on the process would probably pop off, an EV camper is pretty rare

I wanna go camping with this!

Right? I've seen some really creative Transit builds and they look great

I'm really looking at some kind of Ford Transit cargo van to transform into a fishing kayak van because I'm sick of loading it in and out of my truck but I can't find anything around here or long enough to hold my kayak and I'm just not trying to use my truck or pull a separate enclosed trailer I just want an all-in-one setup
@CarsWithSteve Жыл бұрын
Are you looking at storing the kayak right inside or mounted on the roof with a ladder to access it? How long is the kayak that you have?
@ghamm777 Жыл бұрын
@@CarsWithSteve directly inside. Full set up

Medium/High roof with the extended length could work if you mount it diagonally depending on the length

@@CarsWithSteve I have a 10 by 5 enclosed trailer that my kayak fits in perfect. I was looking at the medium high roof with extended length. That would be more space than my trailer

Sounds like you have the build figured out! Mixed order times depending on the rest of the configuration but you're probably looking between 6 - 12 months before it's assembled

I don't like that the doors don't fully open back against the truck like on the sprinter van

They do swing open all the way...

I'm looking to get a cargo van with a high roof im.ovet 6 foot, pass through from cab to cargo, add shelves, a spot for a composting toilet and a place to wash hands, extra lights, and right hand drive conversion to deliver mail and packages as a postal rural carrier.

RHD conversion is going to be hard to come across in North America but throughout EU/AU shouldn't have a problem finding a van that'll meet your basic specs. Sounds like it would probably make sense to go for a med or high roof, long or extended length. Then section off part of the rear for the sink/toilet combo.. definitely doable
@elsuperpollo227310 ай бұрын
I agree, it is but I am seeing places online and mechanics that does conversion pedal and conversion steering kits.

I'm 15 and hoping to save enough money to buy a van and make it into a home haha
@CarsWithSteve Жыл бұрын
There you go! Are you thinking a larger cargo van or one of the smaller Transit Connects? Have you planned much of your build yet?
@gryffingone8155 Жыл бұрын
@@CarsWithSteve well not that much of it yet, I'm looking for a decent van first and then when i find one, i think this one's pretty good, I'll start thinking bout that too. I'm 5.1, so height isn't that much of a problem but i think the higher one's the best in order to have enough space
@CarsWithSteve Жыл бұрын
yeah that makes sense. There are some great videos on KZbin so if you do go for a camper.. do a video on it if that's your thing!
