I remember seeing one of these videos from a few years later. The 8-track they used was Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music. As difficult as it is to imagine anyone cruising in their Mustang with that album blaring, 8-track is the perfect format for it. 4 equal-length programs of guitar distortion for your driving pleasure.

Hurry on over to you’re local Ford dealership today. In 1974 they’ll introduce the Mustang II, which is basically a Pinto. Otherwise you’ll have to wait until the 1990s for the Fox Body Mustang to get some real horsepower.

Nothing screams ''1972'' more than shoving The Carpenters' ''A Song For You'' in the 8-track hole of your gaudy gold Mustang GRANDE. Good Lord... this is tacky perfection!

I bought a used 71, in 77 I think, same color blue as the main one shown in the thumbnail. Super dependable, 302 V8, 3 speed standard. Had it 6 yrs.

I love Mustangs. Except the ones they made from 71-04.

You better buy this Mustang now, because it's the last year before it's replaced by the Mustang II that's destined to be shunned by future collectors!

The Mustang for 1973 is…a sailboat? (C’mon, Ford! Start your film with a shot of the *car* you’re trying to sell!)

Was this the last year or so before they went to the fox body?
@Caffeine_ClubАй бұрын
No, this was just the last year they put an engine in it with any power until about 1983. The fox body started in 1979, but the mustangs between '74 and '82 were basicslly junk, and had no power, which is why you never hear about them.

They weren't junk,people loved them and remember,it's more fun to drive a slow car fast ....

My dad had a '71 Mach 1. Pretty no frills and bloated. The one's from the '60s seem better.
