Of course his voice is 100% natural! Problem with music nowadays isn't the computer itself but the programs that generate artificial instruments, auto Tune, and perfect editing. It just isn't the same and never will be. Synths, reverb, and backing vocals were popular during the 80s and this song has tons of great synths. The computer does not generate nearly as crisp of a sound as good old and gold instruments.
@bpabustan Жыл бұрын
Yes Lou Gramm along with Steve Perry set the standard for a rock vocalist in the 80s. However I disagree with you on no synths and reverb. On this song be it studio or live. Reverb is needed. On the recording to help the vocals "breathe". On live performances, reverb helps the lead vocalist relax his singing voice. Especially on arena concerts a dry, no reverb vocals will have difficulty singing at full chest tone and might resort to shouting. And the vocals will not cut through the mix the audience will have trouble hearing the vocals well. The riff to this song was done on a synthesizer and on record played by British synth wizard Thomas Dolby on a Minimoog - a synthesizer!

This song pretty much is parallel to my love life. I had spent most of my life trying and trying to find the love of my life, after looking too hard and waited too long as one of the lyrics stated. I went through many failed relationships until a year ago when I reconnected with the girl I had met during my childhood when we were classmates in the 7th grade over 30 years ago. And for that I am forever grateful she has returned to my life and I love her with all of my heart. She is more than a friend. She is my life. She is my soul. She is my everything. She has brought stability into this relationship. She has helped me immensely during this difficult time with all this crap going on and helping me alleviate my stress. Her name is Callie, and if you see this, babe... I love you.

Girl just do it! Nothing feels better than rejection because you then know you can a) feel b) rely on yourself to ask for what you want, c) you can handle not being someone's preference and d) you'll be DOD (dead one day). Rejection gets easier each time you put yourself out there romantically or otherwise. It also allows your brain to move on because not only will the imaginary door be closed but you'll know for certain that the one in reality is closed too. You can't be yearning for what you ain't earning, put the work in and go get it. What's the worse that can happen? They say no.

I was born in 2002 and I am very nostalgic for this song especially after not hearing it in years. It reminds me of the time I used to listen to cds that had rock music on it with my grandfather in his truck when he used to pick me up from elementary school. Sadly he passed away in 2020 due to heart failure. I really miss him 😢

I Sang this song on a dare in a karaoke night in New Jersey in one of my weekend drills with the Army reserves....my mother told me she would wish to have saw me sing that night...God rest her soul...I sing this song in my mind and soul thinking about my mom..one day I'll sing somewhere for her.

This song makes me nostalgic about my high school years and I’m only 19. I still think about her, how could someone like her ever love someone like me. But she did. It felt like something out of an 80’s movie. Love like that is rare nowadays and I’m just grateful that I had a chance to experience it.
