god i’m only minutes into this episode but seeing her boyfriend tearing up as he talked about how he loved her just broke my heart. something about elderly people crying really gets me but you can tell how deeply he cares for her and how deeply this tragedy effected him. i hope he was able to find some amount of peace after this

I mean obviously every one of these episodes is and it’s upsetting for her family of course and her friends as well but you could tell that he thought they had quite a few good years left of getting to travel and spend time together and she was such a hard worker her whole life, what such a sin.

One learns from these shows at least one thing: never confront an embezzler or uncovered addict when you discover they're a fraud. Do it with witnesses present if you're going to do it at all. In this type of situation, she should have gone directly to the police and her lawyers. She was trying to be ethical and give him a chance to make amends. Look what happened. Sometimes, being kind is the wrong response. People are dangerous. We have to be handled with care.

I live not even 2 minutes away from where this happened. I was 12 years old at the time and we had just moved here only 6 months beforehand. I remember how shocked I was that it had happened so close to home at the time. Used to drive past the building all the time and just stare out at it while we drive by. I didn’t remember much but the fact that it was a coworker who was trying to get the business. Thank you for making this episode because it gave me so much more info that I might not have gotten otherwise. This building is still there, but the exterior of it has changed drastically and split into 2 buildings but the main entrance which was the entrance shown in the zullo commercial in this episode is still there. The windows were removed and is now brick walls and the doors all have been frosted now so you can’t see outside. I wish we could post pictures in comments here, but until you’ll have to take my word for it lol

Dear Dream ASMAR: Being KIND and being STUPID are two different things, and this gal was surely more Stupid than she was KIND. How STUPID she was to confront him when they were alone in that building. You tell a guy that you caught him embezzling $150K and that you're ready to send him to prison while you're alone with him ? It doesn't require a PhD in Common Sense to figure out that he's going to get very upset, if not violent. A SMART women in her position would've had a witness present, not only for her safety but also to witness what he said. You want a witness there at least to hear his first words about the situation in case he changes his story later. NO One deserves to be murdered but it's apparent that some people are just smarter than others about avoiding situations that can get them murdered, and this gal was just CLUELESS in that regard. ... jkulik919@gmail.com

I was only a baby when this happened. I live in the same city as this episode. Since then, multiple bodies were found in the river. Otherwise multiple murders happened in only a couple weeks.

"It took the jury longer to pick a foreman than it did to come back with a guilty verdict." That one made me laugh hard. I don't think the defense could have found a single jury member who would even be on the fence about his guilt.

While I know I should be paying attention to the forensics, I’m so damn intrigued by the amount of carpet they put in kitchens and bathrooms. What a weird remodeling service.

George was not a very smart criminal. When he threw away that bag of evidence and it landed on the top of the ice it sealed his fate. He murdered mary ann because she discovered he was embezzling money from the company. George was pure evil. He brutally and grusomely murdered her. My heart goes out to mary anns boyfriend. He was so broken hearted. Its tragic. Rest in peace mary ann. Condolences to her family and friends.

Murderer was conscious enough to kill his partner and was confident he will get away with murder. She never expected her partner will kill her after she confronted him with allegations about money robbed by him with evidence etc. Here again this could have been prevented with self disciplined life lived by murderer which of course did not happen. Sorry bear with me. In this episode earnings of murder is higher then he robbed USD 1.0 Lakh. So why he preferred to kill her partner.
