As a psychologist I feel so ashamed watching this video, this woman is an embarrassment to the psychology workfield. There are no tests what so ever that can tell what abusive behaviour took place. It's not our place to say anything about whether a person is guilty or not. And let's not forget that tests can be easy to manipulate if you wish for a certain outcome.

My comments too testify to that. I’m so glad to see others of us out there setting the record straight so that the practice of psychological evaluation and treatment does not appear unscientific easily biased and unfounded by years of rigorous research. I also hope people don’t go away with the idea that two different therapists can see something completely different because in fact treatment and diagnosis is based on research markers and because the patient’s coping and wellness and any others who they may harm are supposed to be our focus we should not be open to contradiction easily or to disregarding a colleague’s assessment unless we have facts about their skills and clinical practices that suggest their opinions are unfounded. She is a disgrace and a fraud. I would not trust anyone’s mental well being in her hands. And I don’t know either professional her or Dr. Curry but the very different ways in which they both described their findings and the ease with which Dr. Curry backed up her conclusions without trying to elicit bias and not needing to refer to notes or cite alleged incidents showed Dr. Curry’s objectivity, which this woman did not show to me. In my educated and personal opinion on the subject matter.

I have a Masters Degree in Psychology, and this “expert” witness did not call into question the MMPI -2 (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory). It was this test that Psychologist Shannon Curry used to determine that Heard had Cluster “B” personality traits, namely Borderline and Histrionic. This is an objective test, and it has been highly peered reviewed over decades. From my perspective Dr. Hughes was not following the evidence.

The only problem I could see with Dr. Curry (imo, also I don't know anything so please correct me) is she couldn't easily say off hand if any of the scores were over 65. If I remember correctly, 50-65 is WNL but under 50 or over 65 is outside normal limits? I would think that should stand out to her since she labeled her with the 1,3 (I believe) which would have been most damning for AH given the case. And even if she didn't remember the number exactly, shouldn't she have like...studied it or tried to memorize it a little more? I'm not criticizing her because I'm not a doctor or anything nor do I have a degree in psych, just something that interests me and I'd love to have input from people who know more about it.

@@lisacarol1433 My background exactly. Out of three siblings I was the only one who would take his side, so of course I received her wrath. Once she and my then 11 year old nephew travelled 8000 miles to visit me. I had not seen her in 13 years. We spent the first evening until the wee small hours catching up and I really thought this might be a great holiday after all. Next morning we were both sipping coffee in my bedroom while I was fixing my hair, when she started screaming and calling me awful names. She actually danced her legs the way three year olds do when they want to get their own way. She was a tall woman, 5'11", so you can imagine! She was insane!! Eventually she was able to verbalise her disgust at me. My late father's photograph was sitting on my dressing table and when she saw it she lost the plot. . She ranted on for an hour or so, and then stopped talking to me for the next 8 days. After that I had another 2 weeks of her delightful company, but with that old familiar depressed anxious feeling from childhood, which up until then, I had managed to suppress. No amount of explaining that she may have thought him a bad husband, he was still my father and I loved him. 😥

My mom does not see what she has done and will never admit it. My dad killed himself when I was 14, she had twisted him up so bad, he didn't have anything left to live for. She destroyed 2 more men after him. Now she is one much younger then her and as hateful and abusive as her. So they slander everyone together and tell each other how worthless they are.

@@pjom4191 No it is not? There's a huge difference between hiring a field expert to testify regardless of the outcome of the expert's findings compared to hiring a field expert that has been working closely with one of the parties. Dr Shannon Curry was hired by JD to interview AH and give testimony to her evidence regardless of whether it helps JD's or AH's case. Dr Dawn Hughes has been treating AH so her opinion is by default swayed towards AH. As Dr Shannon Curry has stated, it is considered unethical in her field for a treating psychiatrist to be used as expert witness as compared to a forensic psychiatrist because a treating psychiatrist will naturally feel the need to protect someone under his/her care. And to back it up with facts, Dr Shannon Curry was talking about the tests she did, the interviews and what it all means for the jury to understand. For the most part, Dr Dawn Hughes was simply reiterating what AH told her, without a shred of physical evidence. Do you not see the irony? Dr Dawn Hughes couldn't even remember the facts of her findings and had to consistently look at her notes yet she can remember every single detail of what AH told her.

She contradicts herself, says that 'biased' should not be in the way of their evaluation, and yet assigns the role of victim to women and that of perpetrator to men. She keeps saying 'women vs men'. That is not fair, it is biased. It should be "victim and perpetrator". Her knowledge is accurate, the problem is that she exchanged the roles. She is describing everything that happened to Johnny as a victim, not to Amber. She is clearly in a mission against gender (note that she basically only works for women). She dares to make an evaluation of the person that her client is accusing, without ever having spoken to him and evaluating him directly. So much knowledge to not 'conveniently' know that psychopaths accuse their victims of the abuses they themselves perpetuated. They learn to act before others like their victim acts in private, and assigns their abusive behavior to their victim. Survivors are clearly not safe with this psycho-logist. Notice how she says "eww" when the lawyer gets confused and calls her Dr. Curry. Who does that?. And her 'annoyed' demeanor. That's not professional, it is psychotic and aggressive. Too many psychopaths infiltrated in the field of psychology too. I hope the jury has a foundation of knowledge in human behavior and can see that after all the evidence that points to Amber's malignancy--one must have to be willfully ignorant to not even see how her entire team does not possess a moral compass.

Her own words being regurgitated by an "expert" and claims of Johnny being an alcoholic even though everyone already knew that and it doesn't by any means automatically make him an abuser. The audio recordings didn't seem to do her many favors and everything else her team has tried is just muddying the waters.

And she’s been ruled an expert witness by the court, so her testimony is entered into the evidence. It’s the jury’s duty to decide which witnesses are credible and which are not. Her opinion is all she has to bring, as the expert witness.

This was actually a great move by Johnny's team. They let this chick ramble on and on, clearly stating hearsay, and it was just irritating to listen to; as opposed to the other testimony that was a clear, concise, and factual account of findings that could only be challenged with "but what about the muffins" -- this chick is almost a complete opposite, and Depp's team has an entire day to tear apart her testimony. It's very obvious she is bias towards Amber and takes her at her word -- that was the main point of the entire trial, everyone took her at her word and it ruined Johnny's career, and now they have proof she was lying. This testimony is her standing in a pool and claiming she's not getting her feet wet.

Look at her publications (they are mentioned on her webpage) and you will see that she only focuses on female victims. This in addition to her language and her presentation I end up thinking that this woman is not neutral in any sense. And she said that she was in noumerous other court cases already which really worries me after seeing how biased she is and how she tries to present "hearsay" as facts. edit: I just rewatched the whole testimony and I have to say that it's almost unreal how she defends Amber Heard even though all the evidence says something else. To me it looks like in her mind shes fighting the good fight by blindly believing a woman. I really think that for her it's impossible that Ms. Heard is making all this stuff up. Pretty weird if you ask me... Watch her whole testimony from the livestream and you will understand why everyone says that she is biased. The fact that she is just sharing all this stuff that Amber Heard TOLD HER (hearsay!!) as hard facts doesn't help. She should be aware of the fact that people can indeed lie no matter which gender but apparently this does not cross her mind.

Also why was she so angry? (Watched the trial live btw). Just because something was repeated to u from someone doesn’t make it true unless you have evidence or u were an actual witness. Also forgot to add, I am a real sa survivor and to me, it seems as though amber’s reaction to someone else telling her story doesn’t seem real or genuine.
