Beading isn't the be all for me on a protective spray, wax etc etc. Personally I hate water spots created by beading. I prefer to use, and make, my own products that sheet rather than focus on beading first. That way I know less dust etc in the air is sitting in beads that are sat on paint work.

Just a little bit disappointed to be completely honest John. When I seen the title I thought this is the video I've been waiting for but it's just another comparison of products you have tested previously to me really. Another vid where a product that everyone is having difficulties sourcing is out on top. Really I would have like to see how beading / sheeting affects how clean the car stays (maybe even test a product that specifies sheeting rather than beading), how the self cleaning capabilities are of the product, whether they leave watermarks when dried, maybe throw some sand and salt on the panel see how easy it is to clean. Maybe even throw in a few spray sealants vs ceramic coatings vs lite ceramic coatings vs hand waxes from the top 2/3 from each category so we can make an informed decision, know what I mean? Would have been a monster of a video but this, this doesn't do anything for me.

Well i do like to see John, but i agree with the avalability fact, its key, i won't buy in a product line if any of the products is missing or has a huge mark up in price over the Americans. Would like to see more stuff avalible everywhere like Koch lineup or Gyeon, Carpro etc. Siramik? Never seen in my life. Collonite? Only 30year old waxes here in the EU. 3D Bead it up? Never seen it here also. Vonix? Completly nonexistent. Armor Detail Supply? Don't get me started on this one (not avalible and won't be - ever) Dr. Beaslys? Forget it. I watch stuff like that for entertaiment purposes mostly as i know i need to do my own experimenting and testing with the stuff we get here in the EU. Still i like Johns vids.

I was thinking of the same thing. Also, for years it's always been beading this beading that. I've been wondering why is beading more important than water sheeting off the paint. What makes beading more protective over water sheeting faster from the paint? I would think water beading will leave water spots on the car compare to water sheeting off the car esp if you ever wash your car outside in the sun. I have all the products but I always wondered why do all these waxes and cerramic coatings find water beading important other than the product is still lasting on the paint.
@sphirit
@sphirit 13 күн бұрын
Lately, I pay less attention to water repellency and place more importance on anti-static/self-cleaning properties, as that’s what ultimately keeps the car cleaner for longer. I also value the slickness it provides, as it makes drying much easier. I have products like Polishangel Rapid Wax with extreme water repellency, which I’ve never used again because the next day the car looked like a dust magnet.

@@michaelmarchei8539 Lately, I only use Ultracoat scoat v2, quick and easy to use. Reapply every 6 months. Nothing more…no quick detailers no toppers, nothing… Keep in mind that every time you rub the paint with a microfiber towel, you're charging the car with static electricity. It's the way I've found that the car stays clean for longer. It's worth mentioning that a real ceramic coating would probably work just as well or even better, but I haven't tried them.

@aeschafer1
@aeschafer1 11 күн бұрын
@ForensicDetailing I can definitely see that. Every time you test a Meguiars or Griots product or something, the price point is always a huge negative, whereas over here bilt hamber costs an arm and a leg (shampoo is still worth it, though, in my opinion), and the brand barely exists. The import costs are just too high on some of these products to make them viable outside the home market. The one Beasleys product I would recommend most is their plasmacoat sealant. It's a ceramic that applies like a paste wax, and I've really been happy with the results each time I've used it. It reminds me of insulator wax in the way it feels, but it's a full ceramic and lasts a long time.

Well, I think it does. I use Soft 99 glass cleaner and their brilliant sealant. The sealant is the dog's undercarriage. I use it once every 6 months, as it lasts that long for me. I do about 3K miles pa, as my car is silver, it hides the dirt that much better than a white/black car (the worst two colours, for detailing, need washing every week). One trick I've found is to use just plain water in a spray, after 2-4 days when the weather has deposited, dust, bird shite etc, instead of the glass cleaner. After about 6 weeks, I might just top up the windows with glass cleaner. Simple water brings up the nice shiny, hydrophobic windows again. I've used some spray-on detailers that offer a hydrophobic surface for a while, and when it rains, it either dries up by itself, or I just get a microfibre cloth to wipe the drops away, and I get a nice, dry, shiny bodywork. I've stopped using waxes, can't be arsed to waste so much time for little benefit, when detailers do a similar, and quicker job. If feeling lazy, or just do not have enough time, or my age, I just snow foam with Bilt Hamber, and just spray off, quick wipe, job done, looks clean. Do the detailing work that works for you. Listen to advice from pros, and others like Jon. Listening and watching is the best way to learn and then decide the best technique/cleaning process, for you.
