Limit of a charge card is not very high in the beginning. The limit increases as you keep paying your outstanding in time. Amex Centurion may be an exception as it is not given to new customers but to old Amex customers with ultra high net worth. In normal charge cards like Amex gold you need to inform the bank beforehand if you want to do a transaction of very high value, esp if you are a new customer

Yes, but you have to pay a certain mark up on it. That may vary from 1 to 3 per cent
