Nice car man. I remember when I was a Hyundai mechanic and the Elantra GT turbo with the DCT came out. My mentor had me test drive one with him and I couldn't believe how much power it had and how well it handled. The Elantra N is its spiritual successor. I'll always prefer my manual 370Z, but some day I will for sure get either an Elantra or Veloster N.

Great vid! Best sounding intake I’ve heard so far. I watched a video on the install of the Forge intake on a VN and wondered if it’d fit the EN. The filter is kind of strange but I’m assuming because it’s foam that’s why it makes so much more noise than say the SXTH open intake. I wonder how good of a job it does filtering air? Anyway, thanks for the video! Someday I’ll start modding my EN.

I'm getting the SXTH Element CPTL intake without a doubt. Yes it doesn't make any power on a stock tune but that's a temp issue. Once I do this it with be their intake AND turbo inlet pipe...then their tune and hopefully an upgraded FMIC. Looking to see how these tunes do during the winter monthes🤔

Sounds really good , big difference over stock for sure. Power gains will be even more noticeable if you ever tune the car with a proper tune. It might show a couple HP gains now as is but will gain more from this intake with a tune. But don't get a tune done till you are done bolting on whatever mods you plan to do on the car. Specially if you get like a LAP3 flash tune. They take all your mods in to consideration and wrote your tune according to it. Look in to LAP3 , probably the best tuners for the Hyundai and KIA cars.

The Forge should be called a "hot air" intake since it's pulling the hot air from under the hood. Stock with Velossa tech or Takeda would be cold air.
@nstylemotorsportsracing14712 жыл бұрын
Me and my friend did a comparison me with the forge and him with the Takeda. We both drove from A to be about a 10 minute drive we both had a JB4 which tells you IAT! surprisingly my temps were lower than his. The Forge is an amazing intake and the air it’s sucking in is cooled by the Intercooler before getting to the intake manifold. I wouldn’t call it a hot air intake!
@CTF332 жыл бұрын
@@nstylemotorsportsracing1471 You can call it what ever makes you feel good but The Forge is pulling hot air from under the hood into the turbo, so it's a hot air intake. The cooler intake air the better to prevent heat soak of the turbo. The intercooler doesn't cool the turbo. A Velossa tech with a closed box intake will deliver the coolest air to the turbo.
@nstylemotorsportsracing14712 жыл бұрын
@@CTF33 I completely understand your logic. It’s very interesting to me that Gen racer uses the Forge “hot air intake “ on there race cars! Forge doesn’t sponsor them ether yet there confident that there intake is best for doing serious 40+ minute stint’s racing the hell out of the car in the TC Championship. Again I completely understand what your saying. I just feel like them using Forge products in the most competitive series really says something!
@CTF332 жыл бұрын
@@nstylemotorsportsracing1471 Those race cars have front vents going into the engine compartment and heat extractors on the hood so there's no need for a closed intake box, plus they're also going for weight reduction. You should add some vents to the hood if using an open under hood intake.
@ItsPaulby Жыл бұрын
@@CTF33 this is silly, the temp is a complete non-issue. SXTH even did testing with a boxed and open intake and found no difference in intake manifold temps. Your turbo is probably hot enough to fry an egg, if doesn’t care what temp the air is that going into it. Sure cold air is better, but the difference is negligible and better air flow is more important.

How hard was the inlet install? I've read and seen a lot of people having trouble taking off the 3 bolts. Did you have a trick or tip for that? Also I'm not sure if I should go with SXTH or Forge for both inlet and intake. I didn't see the gold wrap on Forge, did you wrap it yourself? If so why.
@ndriverkg1042 жыл бұрын
The gold tape helps with heat insulation and the inlet actually was pretty east compared to some other stuff ive done make sure you have a swivel socket though but took me from 7 to 8 something at night so not too bad and i see and hear up and down with sxth intake quality issues and low stock so i just went with forge because it was available and biggest size piping and not much of a difference from closed intakes from my personal experience
@joshuaalvarez81082 жыл бұрын
@@ndriverkg104 Thanks for the tips. Yeah I've read that as well that Forge has the bigger turbo inlet for more power. Your EN is gonna be a beast with the tune and new inlet + intake. But I've read that the forge intake heat soaks due to open intake + aluminum coupler. You may need to upgrade your intercooler if it gets really bad due to heat, but up to you!
