Thats because 1. You cant just fake blacksmithing. It is nigh impossible. 2. The challenges make each episode unique, and worth checking out. And 3. Blacksmithing in of itself is so interesting.
@rayoconnell2613 жыл бұрын
I just watched one of the episodes on Netflix. I know nothing about blacksmiths and stuff. I laughed the whole time cause of how serious the whole cast was. Also one guy started doing “light exercise” (push ups in the anvil, WHY?) He also said he needed to “quench” the knife. He proceeded to put it in between two pieces of wood and sit on it. EDIT: The same guy also said “I made the same mistake last time. I dOnT tHiNk I lEaRnEd My LeSsOn?!?!” Doesn’t sound that funny, but the timing was PERFECT.

One bit about Forged in Fire that I did appreciate when I watched it is that they didn’t play up the competition angle too much. You’d expect a reality show to really try to get a rise out of the competitors and/or have them in pointlessly angry conflict, but in the episodes I watched the contestants were fairly friendly and in some cases would even help each other. It’s much more about the craft and seeing how well you can do and how you can improve.

Not gonna lie, I freaking love this show idk why I just do. Craziest episode is when a man nearly burned down the building his workshop/home forge was in. He had to remake his final blade in like 2 days and it snapped during a test and I was like come on he needs that money, that’s sad. I love a good catastrophic blade failure, especially if the blade explodes into different pieces when the layers of metal come apart.
