since this video went live, longtime fans have told me that the peanut soup has has been getting too sweet, a bit too watery and now has lesser peanuts than before, so bear that in mind if you're trying it for the first time. anyone else feel the same way?

Im from Penang, and tried the creamy version at a function. Fell in love with it. Now im hooked, but very hard to come by. Maybe i'll try making it myself someday👌🏽

My family and I grew up with one tricycle hawker selling only such desserts. very yum. however he has since retired and 3 of his children are professionals in the UK. can you imagine how much cash he has earned from such simple biz? mind you, such sweet desserts and like yau cha kway recipes end up with them into their graves. I am sad as such heritage ends there.

I only ever tried one peanut soup in Sg, and that was Ah Balling at Golden Mile. I must say, it's not a dish that really appeals though. I don't really go for desserts in any cuisine, but I could be tempted by a red bean soup I think so it's on the list of stalls to try next time we're over there.

OMG Thank you for posting this. I ate the peanut soup at this very stall over 30 years ago and couldn't remember the place and name! It was so memorable that for the last 30 years I've been comparing every other peanut soup to it and this one is the superlative best. Hope I can get back there one day. :)
