@jenniferrindahl90073 ай бұрын
A lot depends on how the next half plays out. Angel is playing her position well. Caitlin is playing her position well. This is a league where the Bigs get more love than post players. That’s one of the things I think we’re seeing from the old school players. They like the inside game. Caitlin running the point is the big difference maker, but Sides wasn’t using her this way, at the beginning of the season, and since they were tossed into the deep end with with ridiculous schedule, the team chemistry was lacking. If they can keep playing like they did against Phoenix, then who knows where Clark can take the team. But let’s not get this twisted - Angel is good too. We don’t need to tear her down to lift Caitlin up.

I don't know about that. I could see rookie of the year especially after last big win. But yeah, I don't think there is any way they would give her MVP. Now, if they like go undefeated the rest of the year and she gets a few triple doubles, they would maybe give it to her. But that's not gonna happen...

I'm going over her endorsement deals so far, including her turning down the BIG 3 offer. Which now looks even worse because it appears her agents never even notified her of the offer. To put things into context, the big 3 offer was more than she would earn in her WNBA career. Under Armour offered her 16m for 4 years vs Nike's 28m over 8 years. Obviously the math does not equate at all. You see Caitlin Clark's popularity and potential is literally at the level of Steph Curry and Kobe Bryant. No hyperbole just facts look at her college stats vs Steph Curry. So considering she is the most popular college athlete ever again no hyperbole just facts. That shoe deal should be LeBron James levels of magnitude not Lonzo Ball post Lakers 😂❤ In endorsements meetings it's not about sex, colour or politics it's all statistics past, present and future. And the perceived value you bring to that brand. Nike just signed a multi-billion dollar brand for 28m 😂❤

I love that you made a compelling case based on stats and performance. Historically, performance on the court has been the primary criterion and rightfully so. I love that you pointed out that "MVP" Durant necessarily equate to "best player" and justified your logic for saying so. Adding to your case, there's the fan voting for the all-star team. Caitlin's performance vs everybody else. And, of course, the V in MVP stands for "valuable". Comparing sales of jerseys, game tickets, WNBA streaming passes, etc. Plus tv viewership of games. We all know which player has demonstrated her "value" as measured in financial terms.

CC is the reason I'm watching, but I'm a purist when it comes to MVP: best player for the best team (or one of the best teams). Valuable means your team is winning. CC is learning the pro game fast and still has things to work on. No way she's in the MVP conversation yet.

Do the WNBA, ESPN, and Rainbow Mafia Witches believe that it is not Clark, who is moving the numbers, but the other two Rookies, and the players? The two other rookies have moved the number of seats in their own house - but that is it. Chicago Sky in 2023 7,241.70 home, with Reese 8,658.60 - 1,416.9 more Chicago Sky in 2023 is 6,447.40 home, with Reese 10,471.29 looks good until you back out Clarks games. 34,548 and their total drops from 73,299 to 38,751 or 7,750.2 - 1,500 more than 2023 Clark with an average of 7,332.15 in 2023 and 2024 15,332.92 with 20,333 the all-time high has moved the numbers across all houses and every away game is a sellout, throw in 2023 4,066.80 home tickets, 2024 16,757 Clark has caused two games to be transferred to bigger houses and Clark after beating the home time is getting a standing ovation in their house, which says everything. She had the 7 3’s against the mystics in the W. Here is my take. The more comfortable she gets in the second half, the more times she will get hot, AND have good shooting nights also. I just don't get the hate towards CC. The only thing she is guilty of is having a great collegiate career and being the first overall pick. She would very likely be leading the league in assists if her teammates had decent hands. As it is she is still amongst the leaders. Top 20 in every statistical category that matters. Points scored per game, assists per game, made 3 pointers per game, rebounds per game, steals per game, blocks per game. Fastest player to 300 points, 100 assists and 100 rebounds in history. Angel Reese is in the top 20 in only one of those categories, rebounding. This shouldn't even be a discussion at this point. Finally you destroyed the argumemt that she can't create her own shots.

There are a lot of things that factor into it, but the overwhelming big drive of all of the hatred and venom is simply old-fashioned jealousy. I have to agree with the majority. no way she has a snowballs chance in hell to get mvp. Hell they trying to snuff RoY from her.
@ChicksDigScarsPodcast3 ай бұрын
I don't think she has a chance either. I think she should be in the conversation though. It's amazing how much sway the media has even when everyone knows they are lying. Caitlin Clark didn't shoot well last night but still had 13 pts, 6 rebs, and 11 assists (the harder double double) and people talking about how bad she is. And those assists should've been 15 or 16.

Why because they are silly stats ESPN embarrassed itself with when it named Caitlin Clark the 6th best rookie? Then they had to put it behind a paywall because they got crucified for such nonsense. But you do whatever it takes to cope. Thanks for the laugh! 😅😂

@@ChicksDigScarsPodcast I know but it is one of the major reasons that they say Reese is the front runner. I too disagree with them but point that out.
@serafinobueti71543 ай бұрын
It's actually quite simple, imo. What player brings the most fans to the game? Most ''Valuable'' Player, without a doubt, Caitlin Clark.

Can you use highlights when doing stats, Thanks
@Brett333 ай бұрын
Clark can't take 2 steps without having half the opposing team guarding her . Meanwhile, I see Reese collecting all those rebounds , but 1) when she is getting those rebounds , nobody else is around her , when they are , she doesn't get as many of those rebounds 2) lots of her rebounds are from her own missed shots .

Defensive Rebounds: Clark - 5.2 Reese 6.6 That's not much of a gap when comparing a post player to a guard!

Of course she deserves MVP, look how many new people she’s brought to the league!!
@stevehardwick72853 ай бұрын
I doubt if they'll even let her be an all star. Most of the players will not vote for her and many of the coaches have disdain for her. She got a lot of fan votes, but the "wokies" will try to hold her down.
@fredjames98673 ай бұрын
I reckon the system of the WNBA will put her in because of the backlash the system will get
@mikehall45173 ай бұрын
If the players or coaches want to shoot themselves in the foot, leave CC out of the all star game. Forget about the CC fans not tuning in, EVERYONE except the CC haters will boycott the game.
@barbarajurkic66773 ай бұрын
She'll be an all star. I just saw the official WNBA poster for the all star game on Twitter, it was A'ja on it , and CC, Aliyah and Arike. So, that's pretty much telling, I think.

THEY WON'T EVEN LET HER ON THE ALLSTAR GAME
@douglastong32082 ай бұрын
The fans know who's excelling and who's not. The ALL-STAR voting shows that. The media can vote according to whatever agenda they have, or vote with true performance and value to team in mind. CC shouldn't care, because those are individual honors. SHE knows and the fans know who really deserves what. I believe CC could be both ROTY and MVP, if she keeps going the way she's going and the Fever make the playoffs.
@ericregan43102 ай бұрын
The awards should be skewed. Rookie of the year, Defensive player of the year and MVP are trending toward Angel and Catlyn. Alyssa Thomas for MVP maybe but no solid narrative for other players. The Lynx are doing well but I can not name a player.
@tjkillduff3 ай бұрын
I watch bc of Clark, but my vote would go to A’ja Wilson. It’s not even close.
@barbarajurkic66773 ай бұрын
I don't agree. A'ja is the best forward, but she's not MVP. Without Chelsea Grey, A'ja and Aces were losing games. A'ja was not able to pull the team, and they have way better team than Fever. They lost like six games. On the other hand, without CC as a main point guard, the Fever offense collapses totally. And she makes them all look better.
@RaggedAdam3 ай бұрын
Quite a take. Rookie of the year is in question even though have the third easiest schedule so far while the fever have the most difficult. CC isnt even guaranteed a spot in the all-star game.

They will not allow a rookie in any league to get it if they dod not give it to Randy Moss
@sgtaylor35463 ай бұрын
Nothing disagreement, but at one point they played less games in the WNBA.
@ChicksDigScarsPodcast3 ай бұрын
True but you can say that for everything. For Roger Maris the season was expanded from 156 to 162 games and he used them all to hit homer 61 compared to Ruth's 60. Eric Dickerson had 16 games (and needed them) to break OJ's single season rushing record done in 14 games). Also, the stats I gave you for CC were not season-long game advantage stats. She's already done it.
@stevedesio74333 ай бұрын

The reason is primarily trying keep NBA 50,OOO,OOO And spreading the money across the league and owners are of the weak attendance, and mainly commissioner other board members having been former players their ego's are defensive. Asists are so important I the game. Catlin is the play caller or courta back quarterback on the floor main. The main thing I would want to improve some her 3 pointers practices close her eyes before shooting. It improves your muscles memory. And speed shooting improves your muscles memory too.

MVP = Most Valuable Player; That's A'ja Wilson and it's not even close. MVP = Most Valuable Person (to the WNBA); That's Caitlin Clark and THAT'S not even close. Let's just not confuse the best player with the person that's most valuable to the league.
@ChicksDigScarsPodcast3 ай бұрын
I specifically said there's a difference between best and most valuable. The best isn't always the most valuable. Even went into detail with a specific example.
