Not sure is they had belt grinders in 1652... Awesome video! Super cool to see that not everyone is using power hammers to get the job done

you got a like on this video mostly for rocking the kilt. I wear one when i'm in the shop because i live in Florida and it's hot as the devils bum hole here. It's nice to see other guys wearing them.

See a buddy of mine would always give me crap about using my straight peen over the cross peen but In quite a few different applications the straight peen is super helpful

Love me a good straight peen! I've used them for a long time. I'm still beating on a RR anvil, haven't found a decent one around here yet. Thinking I'm going to try that heat treat method myself. Good work as usual!

I am a stonemason, I would like to see you forge & temper a solid steel brick masonry hammer if you have time, I personally carry an Estwing & it has been my choice hammer for the last few years, I like the fact that it's solid steel so if I get angry & slice through a brick I don't have to worry about the head flying & taking someone out😂

Nice hammer John. Have you looked at the Jockey Lot near Morganington? There's a few guys sale wood products there. Off I-40 before you get to Lake James. In fact, I think it's the first Lake James exit heading west. Keep Hammering!

Where do you get such large chunks of carbon steel? I also have a hard time finding good steel for making tools. No scrap yards locally will sell to me.
@OldHickoryForge6 жыл бұрын
There’s plenty of online retailers. New Jersey steel baron. Admiral steel. Speedy metals. If you have a metal supermarket near you they carry a good bit if carbon steel in all sizes and shapes.
