i was hoping the fantasy chopper be functional and not a heavy slab of steel lol, those spikes could totally stab your wrist if it somehow bounces off your target and the handle is a too rounded some of your one handed swings edge alignments were all over the place it would lean after you hit the log it would be a badass wall hanger and conversation starter tho (some would probably be disgusted at how unwieldy it is but would play with it anyhow) and your presentation was cool

To be fair, when wielded two handed, it's pretty stable, it's the one handed swings that went all over the place, and that was due to the weight. As for the spikes bouncing off things and into me? Same arguement could be made for any double edged swords. Bear in mind this thing is meant to be oversized and ridiculous... It is however, surprisingly good at chopping. 😂

The leather handwrap prodides both of these, and the size/weight of the axe means the vibrations are minimal anyway. 😅

I would have used a more crude leather wrap. Something like a inch wide strip of leather with feathers and bones in it.

Just FMI, how long did it take to heat the piece of digger blade the first time you put it in the forge?

Its weirdly hard to answer that, obviously the forge was cold to begin with, and takes quite a while to get to optimum temperature itself... But yeah, this was a hefty chunk to warm through, so the answer is a long time. 😅

What does that thing weigh? 25 pounds? It’s utterly unfunctional, would look cool on a wall, but if ya had to rip it down and cleave an intruder in twain, it would not well serve if you had to swing more than once or twice. You could’ve easily pulled steel from the back of the blade between the two spikes and saved yourself so much weight where the steel is thickest without damaging function or really altering the aesthetic.
