This song was for his grandma. She passed away 3 years ago. Tae was basically raised by his grandma so he was traumatized when she passed away. When tae was small, he was called "winter bear". The line 'sleep like a winter bear' is just him telling his grandma to sleep peacefully or "hibernate" in literal translations. It's a really bittersweet song

If u look carefully at the winter bear written...u will be able to see Vante...V loves photography and drawing/painting "Vante" has two meanings: When Taehyung takes pictures, Vante is "V + Ante" for his favourite photographer Ante Badzim, but when he paints or draws Vante means "Van Gogh + Taehyung" Here it's the first case as u can see... This song was inspired by the movie "About Time" where his favorite actress Rachel McAdams starred in. He said he was inspired by the scene where the man propose to the girl while half asleep, it was after repeating the same time over and over again by time travelling. He was so sweet to be inspired by that. I really love that movie and Taehyung recommending it is much more meaningful to me, i actually relate to some parts of it. I'm listening to this song with Scenery, Sweet Night, 4 o'clock and Hug Me together before i sleep. Because it sums up my day. i loved this video soo much caitlin 🥺 tae's songs are a straight up reflection of how he is as a person: warm, gentle and healing. same goes for his voice too, probably why he has my fav voice color in bts. i love them all obv but something about his voice always makes me FEEL and idk but not alot of voices hold the power to get to your heart like that. he has said before that his true purpose of making music is to help people heal through his songs, if you enjoy songs like this you should try his other solo songs like 4 o'clock and scenery as well, i feel you'd find comfort in them. i love your videos, have a great day!! 💜

Taehyung commented during a live that he was inspired to write the song after he watched the movie "About Time" while touring, more specifically the part where *[SPOILER ALERT] the male protagonist wakes his girlfriend up to propose to her.* If you take a look at the lyrics, Taehyung is expressing his wish to have a special someone that says _have a good day_ when he leaves to work and he can wish a goodnight while watching her sleep soundly when he comes back home late. This song is about his grandma. She passed away leaving him traumatised. She raised him. He's telling her to sleep peacefully like a winter bear and hibernate. But he still want her to come back so that he can see her once cuz he couldn't meet her for the last time. He's comparing her to a blue parrot which is rare and wants her to come fly see him once. She's sleeping peacefully like a winter bear for forever now. He wants his old childood happy days with his grandma back. In the last part of the mv his walking backwards, everytihing is going back cuz he wants to reverse the time to be with her.
