Just a word of encouragement to those of you who struggle or have struggled with porn-- Through Christ, it IS possible to overcome porn. I've been there. I struggled with porn for four years. For a 15-year-old girl, that's a long time. The guilt and shame was suffocating at times. But through Christ, I have overcome. I've been free for 8 months and counting, and I am no longer guilty or shameful. The self-forgiveness process has been hard, but it is possible. To any who are struggling, YOU CAN DO THIS. My pastor says: “Correction always brings promotion” you have to options, you can be better or you can be bitter, if you messed up choose to be better, depend on God to make the changes you have to make. TRUST HIM. Truth is we don’t deserve anything that He has given to us, but He choose to do it because He loves us, that’s who He is, He is love. When we make mistakes we tend to hide from Him, we think that He doesn’t love us but truthfully His grace is greater than our mistakes! So if you are struggling with forgiving yourself just know that He loves you and He gave you faith to lift your head, choose to be better, don’t give up, Jesus is calling!

I now put on the full body of amor everyday an when the chatters come I take a moment put both hands on my head an say " I'm redeemed by Christ" and forgiven! I appreciate and can see your sincerity and that’s so rare these days. What you spoke reminded me of all that God’s done for me; even in showing me how to discern the difference between things done my humanity (like human error, thoughts the enemy brings, etc...) and willful acts of wrongdoing. God sees them differently and He teaches us in His Word the difference. Gods grace and power are AMAZING! This is so encouraging to me. I think I went into Christianity thinking I'd never mess up again, because I truly wanted to please God, and when I did I was devastated. What I realized is the more I meditated on my sin, the more bondage I had to that sin, the more power it had over me, the more I fell into it. I still think about sins I've committed since being saved and I tend to go through patterns of self-condemnation and wondering why and how God uses me still. This has really tainted my joy in the Lord at times. I can, like you said, look at another Christian in a sin struggle and the Holy Spirit will quicken me to restore them gently, recommend repentance, and offer grace, but for me, I become devastated and I start believing lies like "If you were really His child you wouldn't still be struggling in this area." I think God says his mercies are new every morning for this very reason. We are new creations, but we are in a process of sanctification by the Holy Spirit at work within us. New Christians, if you are struggling with a sin still, don't stay there! Repent, trust in God's love and mercy, and by His power at work within you, move forward. I've heard it said, we are new creatures with old habits. It takes true dependency on the Lord to let go of the things we are so used to living within. How you can know you are born again, is you will never be comfortable in your sin because the Holy Spirit will convict you, and that's a gift! The Bible says he disciplines those he considers children! Take the discipline, learn the lesson, and move on. Shame will keep you stuck in your sin and tell you it's impossible to overcome, but Jesus is enough for us! He will finish what he started in us!

Loved this, something that definitely needs to be talked about more, as many people suffer with this. I know, I have done a lot of wallowing in the past, but God is so good as He met me where I was and still does so that instead of wallowing I can walk in His promises and love. Wow. I am speechless. God IS GOOD. I have been in a dry season for a couple months now and it has been hard to not think that I've done something wrong. It has been hard to hear God's voice at times, but I know that he has never left me. Why? Because I am still ALIVE! I have breath in my lungs and yet I am giving myself a hard time. I needed to hear this word and God knew about it all along! I could go on and on but I know that God does not want me keep dragging this because he already won the war, he already won the VICTORY.
