Never heard of Leed Brakes. However your items look top notch for this build. I am going to explore brakes for my Jeep Wrangler TJ possibly an upgrade to rear discs if you have them. How about that? I watched a Mustang build and discovered a new source for brakes.

Woah, I have never seen thick gooier constipated crap like this in a rear end housing. I've seen some stuff but this is by far the best reason to "check your rear end" before you hit the road with an old car that's been sitting for a long time. Check with Yukon gears as they make a bullet proof posi for the 9". Great video, I love old Fords, have a few myself.

that looked a lot easier that I thought it would be considering the problems you had with the diff. A friend just bought a 67 Mustang and was wanting to convert it over to disc. Watching this video makes me think we can handle it no problem and I will certainly tell him about Leed Brakes conversion kits.

Front brake swap is extremely easy. 4 nuts and the outer bearing hardware (cotter pin, nut retainer that the coter pin slides through, main bearing nut (loosens with a pair of pliers) washer and then bearing.) Whole drum assembly slides right off. Clean the old grease off, clean spindle surface, install caliper bracket, dust shield, tighten 4 mounting bolts, slide rotor with inner bearing and seal installed/ greased, then outer bearing and hardware, slide the caliper on and tighten the 2 mounting bolts, hook up the new (longer) flexs lines and you're done. Sounds like a lot in text but it's really... REALLY easy! The rear takes a little more time but is also very do able. Definitely send your buddy the video and give Leed a call/email. Let them know about this video, and hopefully he'll find what he's looking for👍 Cheers, Mike

We had one come in like that at the dealership I worked at. We sprayed the axle tubes and center housing with degreaser after getting the chunks out then hit it with a pressure washer then air dry with air, spray with degreaser then blow it off again.

As for axle tubes, you can most likely find an engine cleaning brush (something at a hardware store?) of approx. same size that'd be long enough to brush out axle tubes with brake clean or mineral spirits. As for the diff itself? same cleaning fluid and elbow grease...

I did not make it to Toronto last summer to visit wife's family and I know you got this old mustang running from the videos you posted but wondered where it is now? If engine and transmission are good and the brakes you put on it are good then the car should be safe to drive. I just didn't have the time to be messing around with something I've never installed before. Also the 8.8s need to be shortened in the 65-66 models. So fabrication plus install is just not in my time frame... maybe one day down the road though?

I dont believe so unless it was worn out. Is there any differences between a Trac loc and a one wheel peel looks wise?

Have you guys heard of PB Blaster's works on rusted parts and bolts
@Theoldcarchannel.
@Theoldcarchannel. 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, but don't have time to wait for it to soak in. Torch is much easier to fire up and get the job done quick/correctly

With PB Blaster you are hoping it will work. With torches you KNOW it will work.
