Ford made it easy to distinguish between the 302 and the 351 Windsor engines. If the distributor is even with the intake its a 302. If the distributor sits lower that the intake its a 351 Windsor.

Got the same car sitting behind the house, but mine's a 69. It IS a 351W/FMX. 3 speed auto, a/c, p/s, p/b car. It was also "rode hard and put away wet" by several GI owners before I ended up with it, meaning its well thrashed. The only way this one is worth the effort is to work on it here and there when my sons and grand sons come out, beg, buy, and trade or maybe a bit of midnite auto salvage for parts. It will NEVER be anything more than Grampa's Hot Rod. Ever.

I have a 1970 mustang fastback that was bought in 1980 in Hawaii by my dad when he was in the navy…… I wonder why these cars were popular with service members? If this car is actually from Hawaii it could have cruised with mine at one point.

Personally, I prefer the coups over the fastbacks. I think they look better. 9:05 That’s a 20 gallon tank you have. You can tell by the extra hump above the seem. Regular tanks are 16 gallon.

It's a 70 grande, that's a flat tappet 302. Looking at it you can see it's a lower deck, thinner intake. Only later roller 302s used the 351w firing order.

Have not tried it myself but there are law firms out there that can get you a title. As long as you have a bill of sale and the car is not stolen (Clear Vin) I wanna say it can cost around 300 bucks. I think it was Dalton from Pole Barn Garage who was talking about it.
