Bedrock sandals are the answer to the flip flop dilemma. I've ran a mile in them multiple times and hiked many trails. Even played tennis in them a few times. They're not sneakers but for someone who'd rather wear flip flops in warm weather it's perfect. Made in USA too.

100% agree with the Bedrock Sandals recommendation. I’ve hiked, biked, and swam in them and they have done a great job. The ones with the thicker Vibram soles are a good starting place.

This makes me feel better about my personal aversion to flip flips as everyday wear when out in public. With a knee that has been operated on 3 times in the past 7 years I'm klutzy enough as it is so I'm fairly certain a (s)tumble would be in the cards for me if I were forced to run.

people wear them shits way too much and in too many places and with too many outfits. i can't stand flop flops. haven't worn them in 10+ years. If I want to wear sandals, I'll wear birks, but like the video, i don't wear anything outside the house that I can't imagine myself sprinting or getting stuck out for the night in.

Edc is dependent upon how serious one is about defending one's self. Personally, I always carry what I can effectively deploy. Combined with situational awareness, I'm good to go.

I carry my edc bag with me everywhere and I mean everywhere that I can legally carry a bag with a ccs compartment. Obviously this rules out planes and a few other high security places but as I do not carry a gun I keep most of my cutting tools in the ccs section of my bag. The San Andreas fault line could go off tomorrow and everyone would be running around bat shit out of there mind but the one thing edc has taught me is “always be ready” just be prepared to get yourself out of any situation u may need to.

My EDC is more in depth than most,but I’m a combat veteran and an LEO now so what I consider the minimum is more than most will be able to live with.Glock 19,2 spare reloads,Surefire E2Delta,Mick Strider custom Tanto blade,a blowout kit w/Cat tourniquet,and a zippo in case I need to make a fire.If I’m in the woods,a compass is always with me.

@@cwr8618I’m not arguing what anyone Carry’s, it’s your right to carry whatever. But Statistically speaking you have almost a 0% chance of needing an extra mag, so it’s more practical to fill the space with something more likely to be used.

@@drossi101 reasonable. One of my IWB - a comfort carry, has space for an extra helper. I already carry a tac pen, mini light, and blade all in pockets. not sure what else i'd want to take its place

@@cwr8618 I’d recommend medical, and if you haven’t, definitely take some type of TCCC course. I carry a tourniquet iwb where most carry an extra mag and I have a pocket med kit. That’s just my two cents, from my experience.

I do carry solid kits in the backpack on trips and all of our cars but nothing on my person, yet. I'm a registered (not practicing) EMT but I do want to take some of the tactical or wilderness courses.

Whenever I go to the Shot Show on setup day, I can usually spot the former military guys who are probably not to recently retired or got out. They usually have a big backpack, shorts, and flip flops. The mall ninjas also have a backpack, but wear 511 pants and combat/tactical boots

Pre SCOTUS ruling it was very difficult. Have to be a cop, public figure, or someone with tons of physical cash to have a chance. Not sure if it was SD, but there was a CA sheriff that would only issue CCW's to big donars of her reelection campaign.
