I think that's a very one-dimensional view. Gatherings like this are not affecting the climate much at all. The next day just as many planes would fly into the sky, just as much food would be produced in the world. If you believe a 2 week gathering would have a high impact on the lasting future then you're very mistaken. the atmosphere is HUGE. to make an impact you would need to pollute consistently, over the whole world, over many years. as we have done for the past 200 years. THAT is the problem. You know it’s a big deal when President Obama gives a speech about climate change. He didn’t have to do this but it’s obviously important for him to use HIS voice to speak about this. Thanks for telling that the youth is the main game-changer, provided: 1. they take political action, through ballot voting ("vote as if your life depends on it because it does", "don't think that you can ignore politics...it's part of the process that is going to deliver all of us') 2. increase pressure on companies to do the right thing ( not paying for, buying or boycott products that you think they are responsible and responsive to the climate challenge...and avoid the companies that are actually making the climate worse...I see it with my daughters"), 3. listen to and win, change those whose mind is opposed or indifferent to the issue, 4. pay attention to inequalities among those who can and those who cannot easily adapt or adjust due to social or financial pressure,; for adapting from dirty industry to a cleaner one has got a cost, 5. keep being angry and frustrated, but channel this anger and frustration, 6. the challenge is a marathon, not a spring race.

Mr. President your address regarding climate change was spot on and you are correct in stating the clock is running out on our need for action. Thank you for taking action and addressing the Summit #COP26Glasgow as a private citizen and as our past President. It is especially important that countries do recognize the issues you bring up re: inequities in those who cause a lessor carbon footprint may pay a higher price due to demographic locations. Certain areas have > drought, weather extremes, crop variations, and animal survival rates. #ClimateAction is an individual and social responsibility. The younger generation is leading the way in deciding valuable guidelines for our marketplaces and legislation.
