Traditional small scale farming always used a mixed farming method, where multiple crops were grown at once, and many different types of animal were kept and raised at the same time. This maintained the natural ecosystem, it helped to reduce pests and did not deplete the soil. Modern large scale farming methods that grow one grain or bean are unsustainable, and have ruined the top soil - This is something that plant based diet advocates seem to want to ignore!

@XxGiO13xX5 жыл бұрын
@@zambrocca I know you might consider kale among the family of leafy greens that is good for you, However, the green superfood is a high source of goitrogen, a substance that interferes with idodine uptake and suppresses thyroid function-meaning it may hinder the thyroid’s production of hormones necessary for regulating metabolism. This means that goitrogen-rich foods (i.e., kale, broccoli, Brussel’s sprouts) can be perfectly fine if you are getting adequate iodine in your diet. However, if you’re suffering iodine deficiency (or suffer from hypothyroidism) eating foods like kale can cause metabolism and energy issues.

Ali is spot on in what she says at 1:01:00 - if you go from mediocre to shitty, you prolly don't notice, but if you go from mediocre to feeling great, and then go back to mediocre you really notice it and it's hard to go back - that's what happened to me - I started keto in Jan 2017 and felt amazing for the year I was on it. But then I started feeling deprived of all the delicious sweets everyone else seemed to be able to eat without any problems so I started indulging and little by little it snowballed until I was eating full on junk all the time and not only did I gain a lot of weight that I had lost but I felt like such shit - I was gassy, constipated, moody, which I don't think I even noticed how bad I felt before trying low carb. So then I went back on keto and feel SOOOO much better, so I don't think I will be relapsing again, it's not worth it!

This is an ex-vegan thinking she has knowledge of multiple perspectives and sciences. Problem is, a lot of vegan memes (I'm calling them memes) are not science and she doesn't sound grounded on earth, but all over the place. For people who have followed an anti-inflammatory diet for a long time, there's no feelings of 'not feeling safe' or 'running out of your body', but instead feel focused and grounded and calm. When you add as minimal disruptions to the body as you can, your body has plenty of room to be optimal (and to repair all the damage done by the accumulated poisons from the past). Still adding poisons daily might work for someone who never had anything bad in all their lives, but no one is born in such an environment. It's like telling an ex-smoker to smoke occasionally to build resistance. You know what's even better? Keep avoiding smoking completely. Both are obviously still better than full-on smoking and this is no different. She's thinking she knows the answer because she's feeling better going less heavy on plants.

A Whole Food Plant Based Diet is better for longevity and the environment. You can get all your nutrients from non-animal sources. Meat and dairy comes with zero fibre, trans fat, antibiotics, hormones, cancer and toxins bioaccumulate up the food chain. This is not a vegan vs non-vegan issue. This is a competent vs incompetent issue. A lot of women who are non-vegan are still low in iron and supplement. Same with Vegans. Most women are fussy with food and when they try vegan they don't calorie count or use an app like cronometre to track their nutrients. It's mind blowing when I ask current vegans how many grams of legumes they eat they say none or it's a tiny amount.

So she went on a severely nutrient diet (raw vegan) instead of just eating a normal nutrient dense vegan diet, then blames veganism. Then instead of learning her lesson jumps to a similarly extreme diet, avoiding certain vegetables due to “anti nutrients”. Then doesn’t feed her daughter groups of foods because she MIGHT be allergic, although all evidence points that intolerances develop due to avoiding those foods? Then she doesn’t vaccinate her daughter because her daughter is healthy. So healthy in fact she can’t even eat a bean without having a severe reaction. So healthy that she can’t even eat whole food groups. Then she avoids processed foods but drinks alcohol, a literal poison. Cause they lack glyphosate? Let’s tease this out. Drinks poison.....because it doesn’t contain another poison? This lady is absolutely and I mean absolutely insufferable from a nutritional stand point. She isn’t logical at all. She has a very unhealthy relationship to food. Also, she doesn’t care about animal welfare when she eats them. Call a spade a spade. I am a healthy omnivore. I eat 🍞 , sugar in moderation, steak and eggs, homemade chocolate cake, tofu, rice and beans. I exercise everyday. I am never sick at a great BMI, healthy and enjoy grilled cheese sandwiches. I fast when necessary. Her approach to diet and health sounds miserable. Nothing on her personally. But I had to click out this echo chamber. If she really was an ethical vegan she would have researched and realized there are HEALTHY ways to do plant based. That don’t involve only eating fruit.

Thank you!! I’m glad to see common sense in this comments section. Especially from someone that’s not vegan themselves but gets the point anyway. I’ve been vegan for 15 years, and every person that I’ve encountered that “couldn’t be vegan because it was ruining their health” has as convoluted a story and unhealthy relationship with food as the woman in this interview. “Animals actually add to the ecosystem!” No sh*t, Sherlock! That’s why vegans want you to stop eating them and caging them. So they can fulfill their role. Animals raised for human consumption are killed before they even reach a quarter of their lifespan. Some even within hours of birth. Even the so called “kind farms” for grass fed, free range animals are causing the deaths of wild life because the farms have to settle in way out there territory where there shouldn’t be farm animals- guess what happens? Wolves, wild cats, mountain lions, coyotes... come around, “What have we here?!” and the farmers can legally kill them because it’s a threat to their “property”. So, now people can have a hamburger with a side of coyote or wildcat- so much better an easier than eating a lentil patty, am I right?

My doctors don't want me to drink because of my anxiety... But I have had negative experiences and I can drink to excess... Now that I'm sober for October when I feel like I want to drink I get that anxiety bubble in my solar plexus... Now I've learned b4 that we can crave alcohol cuz properly brewed alcohol contains b vitamins we need but with pasteurization and chemicals these vitamins are kinda dead and not usable by the body... Do you guys find any truth in this

Breath is very powerful... I've learned how much I'm holding my breath in a day cuz of cleaning things or even cuz I'm in pain... I'm going through a lot of pain at times... When I went through Labour long ago I've used breathing to meditate through it but now it's hard I don't realize I'm doing it at first... So I learned box breathing and I try to do this but I like your swish out breath it pushes out the breath In my solar plexus...

Very good for you help others with this vaccine issues it's desperately needed the support tests on is the immune system strong, malnutrition etc I like it... Many people are terrified to stand up... I caved and both my boys get vaccinated for mandatory vaccines not the flu shot... Measles vaccine etc are mandatory for children in the public schools... My youngest child was suspended for getting his vaccines late...

I love that you guys keep on about diversity yet give no real reason other then resilience... Who cares? Just because you want to eat useless vegetables doesn't mean you need to eat them to be healthy.

Was on board with the information saying until she got to the anti-vax part....yeah, sorry, but your daughter's immune system isn't going to protect her against the highly infectious, communicable diseases (save for tetanus). It's one thing to know she might have some type of reaction because her genetics point to a methylation issue, and maybe delay or be more judicious about how/when she receives vaccines, but to decide to avoid vaccination completely is...yeah, not impressed with that decision :(. Also, WHY WHY WHY are people still carrying around the completely debunked myth of vaccines being related to autism? Ali, you can and should do better. I sure hope you aren't trying to talk your patients/clients out of vaccinating their children!

I agree, also vaccinations you also do for the community. What if her healhy, perfectly nourished child infects a new born or a pregnant woman or a cancer patient? I agree with spreading out vaccinations some more not having too many at once, but ruling out even highly infectious ones while benefiting from high percentage of vaccination in a population is so incredibly selfish. The only reason why measels is not a big risk anymore is because MOST people vaccinate.
@sonyaj665 жыл бұрын
Exactly. All one has to do is watch this video - courtesy of the Mayo Clinic - of an infant (too young to be vaccinated, I believe) suffering from whooping cough to see that it's not only socially irresponsible and ignorant but possibly deadly to other people's children to forgo vaccinations for your child, as well as selfish, as you point out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWTSi6WDfKmAg9k The pervasive and willful ignorance (and added bonus of conspiracy theories peddled by some of these people) about vaccines is frustrating. Imagine if this mentality was present when smallpox was still present; we'd be having deadly outbreaks of it - a truly horrifying thought!

@@tinak.p.258 Wow...you are uneducated. I'd suggest reading some books on the topic. Vaccination doesn't affect shedding. In fact, you shed more. That's why recently vaccinated can't visit ped oncology ward. Research DPT vaccine in Africa. Hint: vaccinated die >5x greater rate. Only MMR has been studied vs rest of vaccine schedule not completely unvaccinated in relation to autism. She was referring to surviving a bout of measles or pertussis more than contraction altogether in her daughter. My 9 month old zero ear infections compared to at least 1 in all his cousins.
