Since 1.5 you can actually become the HRE by forming Middle Europe and being Authoritarian, if I remember correctly. You will then be called the "Holy Roman Empire". Not sure about the final release, but in the last beta patch there was a bug, when forming Middle Europe as Prussia/Germany that basically broke the game. Those italian formation events occur, sometimes you become Italy, one time I even somehow became Two Sicilies and integrated all of the former HRE. I hope they fixed it, because I definitly want to try it again.

Denmark never ever just concedes the liberation of Holstein in my playthrough, is there something particular you do? Because it seems quite difficult to win the war, as you have to build a significant army first and France tends to get in the way

Hey Ludi, you just won a sub. Can I ask you if you'd do some Portugal after this Germany playthrough? I always love playing that nation as I like the "very powerful weak nation" feel it has. But the recent patch seems to have really complicated how to play the nation and after reaching the midgame I stall and never recover from debt, constant turmoil in my conquered land, lack of education, lack of building throughput or the weird new pop rules that make a subsistence farm more desirable than a job at a factory. Anyway great playthrough.

i'm always curious how you run so deep into the credit that you can suddenly have a mega profit paying off the expenses + interests. usually when i do it i tread a fine line between maintaining profit so that the interest don't destroy the game and therefore limiting the growth and infrastructure builds, even when i'm not building anything.

the reason the north german federation was glitchy is because you need to have them in your customs union to confederate. ive had runs where they never join

This update is unplayable, especialy for a Prussia run. Combat is utterly broken and impossible at a large scale because of the terrible UI. I coulnd never win against Austria as Prussia because of my vassals attacking with a 1 unit army and losing everytime. Literally can't play.
