FIA keeps shooting itself in the foot by being so uptight about on track footage on youtube. I don't know the details of why, how and what drives that decision, but it is beyond me how it can be better than showing at least some track action here.
@nitelastАй бұрын
No idea if it is the fia specifically more than formula e themselves. F1 academy and a lot of other open wheel feeder series' are fully on youtube for free. Could well be just because its pre-season testing and the only series that really makes a deal out of that is f1, or formula e are trying to entice more people over to their own website for on-track footage (like when race replays were on youtube, but they moved them)
@Jess-vx1egАй бұрын
@@nitelastFe do have (most of) their free practices on KZbin for free. Only qualifying and the races are not. So if you want to check them out, you can do so on youtube still 😊 Hope that helps

Doesn't Liberty Media operate the broadcast rights to F1? As opposed to the FIA?
@shehansaverimuttu2049Ай бұрын
@victorkong82 yes, FIA is just a regulatory body. Broadcasting and the rest is handled by Liberty media.

Yep I don't get it either. Lots of talking, no on track footage and no summary of fastest times for each driver. Why not a proper 10 min video with a 30 to 40 second summary of how each driver went, a bit of footage of each or most and a wrap up?
@abigailcooling6604Ай бұрын
This is a great start, hopefully soon inclusion goes beyond PR and a few tests so we can see women racing competively in more series.

I'd like to see what a Lewis, Max, or someone like Pato or Kyle Larson could do in an FE car. Just by way of comparison... All very skilled wheelmen.
@lewis8552Ай бұрын
Pato is meant to be driving the car at Mexico but don't think he'll get a go in any competitve capacity. Just a show run. I think all those drivers would be up there if they were to race in FE. Though I don't think you'd see a huge difference as the top guys in FE are also very good(JEV, Wehrlein, Cassidy, Evans, Da Costa etc are no slouches). I think only really Max and Hamilton you could safely assume would be better. Pato and Larson, less so but I don't doubt they can get onto the top level.

Why are they 3 or 4 seconds slower than the factory drivers on a short lap? Were they given only half the power? Chadwick in the fastest car for the men's test, 3.8 seconds off Evans. That's not all driver skill, an occasional Indy NXT podium finisher and one time winner ought to get to about 1 second of a top tier driver. Different conditions?
@Sjaak2511Ай бұрын
1. These drivers are likely not as fast. 2. These are not the real drivers, so there is not really a reason for the teams fo push the same way the normal drivers do. In F1 rookie tests for example we also dont always see competitive times.
@adrian8426Ай бұрын
The driver tests are done under different parameters specially for rookies that aren't even on an F2 level. These girls are more aligned to F4 equivalent machinery and a slow build up is required.
@CrogaАй бұрын
We're talking about drivers that have been driving these cars for a couple of seasons. Of course someone that just gets in doesn't get the same performance out of the car. Not to mention the track. Also; those F-e drivers are pretty much the cream of the crop in F-e cars. Chadwick has little to no experience driving electric and believe me; there is a huge difference. 3.8 seconds off isn't too bad when comparing drivers that have been doing this for years steadily versus drivers that just jump in for the first time and really are generally not racing as many actual races either.
@ariefghani2380Ай бұрын
They drove on the track for the first time not even on sim because of what happened in Valencia. They all used to drive a F4 car and just like what Abby Pulling said, it was quite demanding so it's a given their first drive in the new car they have 0 experience in are a few seconds off
@mk_annan22Ай бұрын
Firstly, these women drivers had only 1 test session for 3 hours versus their male drivers had 5 test sessions across 3 days. So, when you compare from a broader context, 3.8 seconds off isn't that bad.
