Was just like you Forrest, except I met a Thai woman who was on vacation here in NYC. First time dating a native Thai girl, my god the difference was astounding, you weren't exaggerating. She was only here for a short time, was dropdead gorgeous, S Class in terms of looks and figure, could literally get any guy she wants, but we clicked anyway. While I worked in Manhattan, I told her she's free to do anything she wants while I'm at work, I didn't want to tie her down away from touristy things in NYC on her short time here. But you know what she did? Visits me at work, bought snacks for me, and she waits in the lobby till I got off work so we can have dinner together. Hit me in the feels, I've never met anyone put in effort *for me*. She eventually had to go back, haven't seen each other for 3 years. Fast forward to today, work has gone fully remote, I told her I'm planning to go to Thailand. Her reaction? She tells me to stay at her house, starts sending me step by step information about Thailand Pass and visas and SHA hotels, links and information, ready to book everything for me. I need to marry this woman

Okay, now that I've watched the whole video I did NOT expect that but I probably should have. All I can say is, my experience has been identical to yours. I even dated a Canadian woman here in BKK who completely turned me off to western women just like in your case. It's not always easy to talk about, or for others to comprehend, but it is reality and if westerners (women, etc) can somehow come to understand, they will be much better off.

Sorry to hear it had to be a Canadian woman ;-) . Living in Canada I can say that there is a bit of a reputation with Canadian women. Most of my foreign friends prefer not to date them in fact. However, they aren't as bad as their reputation abroad might indicate; it's partially due to our culture and class separation. Most women that travel and live abroad come from higher than average levels of entitlement. And most women from more humble backgrounds tend to get married off earlier and usually don't travel for as long or live abroad.

@@Gothicc_senpai Women are "kind of" turned off by Blue Collar men. Case example: I have a friend who used to go to the bar with his friend pretending to be helicopter pilots. Both did very well. Lying works wonders, especially when used on shallow people. Working in office environments I got far better vibes from either foreign women or women raised by immigrants compared to Canadian women. I work on construction sites now with many Latin Americans. There's actually quite a few "blue collar" women who would be great catches (they are younger, I'm 40 years old). Oddly, many are very well educated and have the intelligence to match. I don't want to explicitly state that Canada has a "bad generation" of women. Many of the "good" catches get married off at early ages. Due to extreme entitlement however I do have to say that the stereotype is valid. The antidote of course is the huge influx of immigration and with that brings women with very different traits than the typical white-chick-syndrome we've all encountered. Some of the Latina girls on construction sites work in some of the hardest trades. They are actually really good at what they do; they work insanely hard. And when they let their hair down... holy shit!! As mentioned I'm a bit too old to date them which makes my occupation quite torturous (I otherwise love my job). I'm sorry that you're having trouble in Toronto as I've heard it's a very international city. I haven't been there personally (other than layovers) so wouldn't know.

I think one of the biggest point you've missed is that women (and also men) in Asia and non Asian countries in general has a stronger sense of family values. Thus female are brought up to take up traditional roles as wives and mothers. They are more willing to compromise their individualistic needs to keep the family together. Same goes for men. But we shouldn't look at it as being weak or submissive, traditional women can be strong in their own terms. Modern Western society is a lot more individualistic so that's why you get this 'combative mindset' in relationships . And I won't get into new wave feminism. Modern dating culture in the West is basically a mess as some people put it.

Some Thai men are also less combative but not all. There are Hong Kong women with strong personality who couldn't find any Chinese men back home and came to Thailand and managed to date some. Hong Kong women are also influenced by western ideology and many do find it difficult to find Chinese men if there wasn't a sexual ratio imbalance in China.

I generally agree with the facts you said about the reasons Western women find it difficult to date in Thailand. It is somewhat true that women outnumber men in the country, and that was the case at a university that I recently graduated from. The part where you said that the Western culture has a more combative approach, that is also true which indicates that they tend to be more aggressive in which the Asian culture may not like. In recent years on KZbin, I started to see Western women who are dating or got married to Thai men. In my opinion, the tide is slowly changing and I think more men in Thailand (myself included) are open to dating Western women after seeing videos on other people's experiences.

I think it depends on the Thai women. I married a Thai woman who I met in America . She comes from an upper middle class family in Thailand and her views are much more in line with western feminism. So just be aware there is a class divide in Thailand. Higher educated, well off Thai women are gonna be more like western women. The poorer ones of course will treat you like a king . Economic motivations will shape attitudes no matter what country You're in.

Yep, Forrest, this is it, and I think that the men who flock to other countries where toxic feminism is rare would verify your observation. I never bought into the ideology, but had some bad habits. In the late 1990s I dated an outspoken Indian man who coaxed me into thinking of doing these sweet little things for him. I listened and it paid off. As a whole, the answer is NO. Given the choice between a Thai or foreign partner of equal status, attractiveness, education, and wealth, they would almost always opt for the Thai. From my encounters with thousands of Thai women dating foreign men, a common pattern emerges. Most of these women are: Dark-skinned from Isaan Have short, stubby noses Often single mothers Have a high number of past relationships or have been involved in the sex industry at some point. While this isn't representative of everyone, it's the case for the majority. As you can see, these individuals rank lower in the Thai dating pool. From my perspective, I've routinely been disrespected, rejected and made to feel like I have a communicable disease with Western women -- many of them average at best even as they have an elevated opinion of themselves. The thing about Thai women is that they are far too motivated by money. I say this with experience from 17 years of marriage to my Thai wife and anecdotal evidence from friends over the years. I'm sure we've all heard stories of friends that have been taken on endless shopping trips or ditched for taking their Thai girlfriend to the wrong hotel or constantly nagged to buy them gifts. And this is not just the Thai village girlfriends. I have a friend who met the parents of his middle class Thai girlfriend over dinner at home, decided to take her on holiday, couldn't get the "right" hotel for the first night so had to get a substitute with the intention of moving to the better hotel the following day. His Thai girlfriend just split and left him on arrival at the first hotel and never answered his calls again!

When I got out and started thinking about marriage, western girls just didn't compare to those from Southeast Asia. It's all the little things my Vietnamese girlfriend (now wife) did that blew me away. She'd surprise me with a coffee or a treat, plan a date, buy me shirts I liked, drop off lunch at work that she made, invited me to her place for a home cooked meal and even offer to run errands for me, all without me asking. In a decade of dating Western girls, not once did any of them make such simple, sweet gestures. It's the small acts of kindness that make all the difference.

Feminism in itself is not wrong , it emphasizes equality where men and women can be equal, but every feminist i know ended up having traditional expectations from men and modern advantages for themselves which in itself is injustice and hypocrisy. secondly , "western women being combative". They are not combative they arrogant and stupid. Most of their arguments are not arguments , they are just a bunch of insults and ad hominem attacks and changing the subject when it fits them. An argument goes on the line , person A has an argument , person B listens and responds, person A does the same. Their "argument" stops with ability to listen let alone construct a coherent response. If they are in an actual debate and respected the rules of a debate they would lose.

Most westerners would not want to date western women in an eastern country. You'd want the translation/cultural assistance benefits that you get from dating a local lady. Plus you may not like the way western girls have treated you, hence going to the country in the first place!

You're funny. I am an Indian woman, born/raised in Malaysia, left Malaysia at 22 came to USA in 1998 for education and been in the USA since then. Currently residing in South Florida. I've dated both Malaysian Indian men, American men, Indian men from India. For some reason, I am just the opposite of you LOL. Due to my independent and driven nature since little the way my parents brought me up in Malaysia, for some reason Indian men gets intimidated being with me unless they are open minded and also had similar upbringing. But, on the other hand, there are some American/Caucasian men I find they shallow minded and not open enough for me to even consider dating. I think it all depends on the amount of exposure one has experienced in life which makes our life behavior and attitude.

No matter how strong a man is, I mean both physically and mentally, there’s always a “boy” inside him. A man wants to be treated as a boy or a kid in a relationship, at least 10% of the time. Of course not about cuddling, but giving more tolerance to his hobbies (healthy ones) and sometimes silliness and etc. No one should dictate the other in a relationship, you need a partner but not a boss, a queen, an instructor or a policeman or something else, it’s about feeling comfortable with each other and appreciated being together. There are many truths to what you said. It’s the little things that matter. That toothpaste on the toothbrush. I don’t expect that but it shows someone really cares. Don’t take me wrong, I’d do the same for my partner. As for the negative outlook on feminism and strive for independence. There’s nothing wrong with being independent, I want my partner to be able to take care of herself. There are plenty of Thai women who are strong and independent. But they still deeply care about their partners and want to do what’s best for both of them, not always put themselves first. That’s the real difference.

I'm mixed Puerto Rican and West Indian (Bahamas) born and raised in NYC, Been to Canada, Bahamas Puerto Rico and traveled all over Asia and the Pacific including Thailand and lived in Japan for 5 straight years. This guy is speaking the 110% truth. These countries have some of the most relationship minded women and they really do excel in the feminine, girlfriend, wife department. My two cent contribution: i haven't dated southeast Asian women but I've met many who wanted to explore taking things further. Since then, every time I bump into a reasonable single man my advice is always the same: don't marry yet, date a southeast Asian woman first. If my wife ever dumps me, you bet where I'd be looking for a partner. Most of my interactions with white anglo women are completely bizarre and leave me feeling disgusted.

I wasn't very successful with getting a "girlfriend" in Pattaya. The young ladies I met wanted short-term relationships as they were "working girls." Before you head back to Bangkok, you must eat at Aroon Rai. It is on Kotchasarn Road facing the moat. Been eating there since 2006 twice a year. Family business with 4 generations working there. Anthony Bourdain said in 2004 on 'Cook's Tour' it was the best Thai food he had eaten.

Please clarify, Are the western women trying to date western men in Thailand? That would explain their difficulty since they will be competing with the local Thai women. I assume they are not looking to date Thai or other Asian men. According to some online dating site statistics, western women do not find Asian men attractive or date-able.

This is an age old problem. I've personally witnessed at least two marriages (1 German, 1 Swiss) broken up where the husband took a job in the region (Vietnam) and within the first year they dumped their wives & children and moved in with local women. Having said that I've met many Westerner women there and to say that they can't compete is false. It depends on the individual. I've found many of them are quite attractive and dateable. So it's a generalization you have hypothesized here in this video.
