Impressive stuff if you are looking for penetration. I got very similar velocities out of my Jericho as you did your Beretta. Keep up the good work man.

@christopherreed47234 жыл бұрын
Very interesting demonstration. Thank you! There are two specific points I took away from this... 1) Terminal effects from a tumbling projectile *are* a real thing, but will be most pronounced with one that is longer than it is wide (6.5mm Carcano, 5.45x39mm 7N6, etc). This means that relying on the projectile tumbling to inflict damage/transfer energy is not going to be a productive approach with most pistol calibers (7.62x25 Tokarev might work, and the 5.7x28 SS198LF also). 2) I believe the intended service ammunition for the Russian MP443/PYa pistol is the 9mm 7N21 round, using a 83.3gr steel core bullet moving at between 1460 and 1541 fps. Since MP443 pistols are a bit rare on this side of the Atlantic, and steel-core 7N21 ammo is even rarer, this TUI ammo at least gives an indication of it's likely performance. It would be very interesting to see if (and how) the MP443's design addresses the inaccuracy issues of very light, high-velocity 9mm projectiles.
