Thank you so much for this awesomely detailed video! My daughter just arrived at Reception last night! I got that 60 second phone call! I didn’t think I wouldn’t be hearing from her in a while! I thought she was going to a hotel, and quaranting, relaxing…even sent her with a novel to read. But I see that this is business week! I’m so proud of my baby and excited for her! Thank you so much for your service! Keep being a great soldier and thank you for protecting our country! ❤️

This was a ridiculously in depth video with lots of footage which surprises me. There aren’t many creators that make good videos like this. I graduated basic at Sill in August of 2019 and this video literally put me through everything that happened all over again. I remember getting to reception at about 11pm and having about 45 mins to sleep after initial issue to start my morning at Vessey Hall. I even still remember that stupid little march to the DFAC! Crazy. Lowkey kinda miss it, was such a great experience. Bravo battery 1-40th leads the way.

Detailed video! I was there and I felt so shitty for a long time. My mom was dying back home and I messed up my arm from some guy falling on it (though I didn’t throw them under the bus, just said it popped while doing push-ups) while still in reception. I could’ve stayed there for a while and got better, but I decided to leave. It felt crappy because I was there for a few months and then placed with people who were straight up quitting. April to July 2013
@Skyblue-fh1nj2 жыл бұрын
Phone call was a quick call about 230 am for us. (What he said to his dad Hi this soldier and we arrived.). Now done with reception I think it took about a week. He is a week and a half in basic training. Don’t worry about missing the call the first time. Our son was able to call right after. Thank you to all of our military and veterans. My x step dad was stationed at Fort Sill, OK. I remember the Indian reservation, the lake, and the buffaloes. Kind of a flat area low grass. I don’t remember a lot of trees. Prayers for everyone training.

@@iPepy Fort Sill is alright, we missed out on major events like Rappelling down the tower because it is currently under construction, we also didn’t do combative or any of the stick fighting due to covid, and you’re gonna love wearing your mask almost every time unless you’re running. I got lucky enough to not be restarted due to being positive with corona in the first few weeks of control monitoring or aka “Yellow Phase” a whole battery, not all of them but about 80% got restarted back to Week 1 due to having a major covid cases outbreak, imagine being in week 7 and almost in blue phase then getting restarted back because someone decided that it’s okay not to wash their hands or coughing in a group of people. Anyways, other than the whole covid things, I suggest that you get yourself to be more resilient and be prepared to be mentally drained. You are gonna need it. Don’t give up, you’re gonna stay there longer if you do because you’re not gonna be a top priority.

We were the last cycle to take the APFT in basic. Unfortunately, some AIT's still administer the APFT. The APFT will not be gone until October of 2020. I went to Sill several years ago for basic. Place was utter ass. I remember when A95th was on the AIT side of post and it was chill as fuck because we'd go to one pf the AIT DFACs. The Fox batteries fkr each battalion were where A95th is currently. I remember that because I got injured halfway through a cycle with F 1/31. I was a medhold at C 95th for a year while I did physical therapy and got an off-post surgery, and then did WTRP at B 95th until I recycled with B 1/31 from day 0. Looking back several years later, it wasn't even the worst experience the Army gave me. Ft Huachuca sucked ass getting there during monsoon season, and the couple years I was at Ft Campbell with the 101st was an utter shitshow. I was married and therefore had a house on post with my wife instead of staying in the shitty barracks, but the weather and lack of off-post nightlife sucked donkey balls (except for Nashville and the Electric Cowboy... Those spots were cool)... But it came with the obvious adding your name to the famous unit history of the 101st, so that was one perk.

My husband there too!! Does anyone has any information on when they’ll be graduating??
@prosper15674 жыл бұрын
sochil R you will get a letter sooner or later from Their battery stating what date is graduation and a phone call possibly from your loved one
@Mitch-rd9gs4 жыл бұрын
sochil R Different batteries graduate at different times. You will eventually receive a letter in the mail but if not your husband will be allowed his phone for short periods of time throughout his training. Don’t expect longer than five minutes for no more than three times the whole time he’s there. Don’t worry, you will learn the date, time, and location eventually.
