You're a great educator, Kendall. I've lived all my life in Southern California and have never been to Ft Tejon.

Thank you. You should stop there when you travel north.

Wow! What a wonderful video you made! I was a baby in 1952 and my father protected me from the Tehachapi quake, in Ventura. You made the best video ever on Fort Tejon! Thanks! Oh! One more thing. I know the San Andreas fault is very close to the fort 😱

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm told the fault is just over the hill. I've seen various portions of it, but not in that area.

Thanks again Kendall, I frequently stop here to stretch my legs on a trip over the Grapevine. I thought I knew a little something of its history, but you have shown the whole story!

Believe it or not I had complete access to this place back in the late 70's. My cousin was the Park Ranger for that park and i would help him clean up there & help with small jobs. I was there when the civil war caravan showed up with maybe 400 people maybe more and for 3 days i watched them set up their tents & even helped them. and every couple days i would sneak away and walk to the park at night because i lived right up the dirt road. at the Ranger house.so cool

Hello again Kendall! Great presentation here. I noticed a fire in the fireplace in the background in one shot and the fireplace in another shot but no fire then. Does someone there build a fire for warmth on colder winter days?
@adventureswithkendall9 ай бұрын
Great eye! I was there on Friday, February 2 which was the prep day for a living history event over the weekend. On Friday, there was no fire. When I went back on Saturday, the fire was keeping the barracks warm as that is were the reenactment troops were sleeping over the weekend. Thanks for watching.
