I hear a lot of people saying For Vaux plays like Locker. It doesn't. Way more flanking routes and non-linear gameplay. It's wonderfully fluid.

Flakfire Exactly what I've been saying. A lot less choke points. Also, for those who didn't know: instead of a behemoth, the losing team will get three elite classes that spawn close to base. I'd assume the same goes for Verdun.

definitely looks to be the case. Metro and Locker were insanely linear and emphasized choke points, with few opportunities for varied gameplay. This map looks more fluid and non linear, and could offer some great CQB gameplay. It's important to emphasize the difference between CQB and linearity when it comes to comparing maps to Metro/Locker.

I agree as well! The only comparison to Lockers/Metro is that it seems like the team travels as a group flag to flag, however, the non-linear gameplay makes flag capping much more "circular." Therefore, back-raging doesn't seem very likely and matches seem to be going to be generally close all the time. I must say that Operations on this map looks amazing! Overall in BF1, I would say that Argonne is more similar to Lockers/Metro and Suez is slightly like them as well.

A little bit of history: The cistern gauge at Fort de Vaux was faulty, and didn't read the correct level of fresh water for the fresh water supply. The French garrison stationed there held out as long as they could, with stockpiles of food, but ran out of fresh water. The Commander of the Fort saw his men passing out and dying of dehydration, after not having fresh water for days (some as little as 1/4 pint for over 24 hours, with men licking slime off of the walls, and drinking their own urine)decided to turn over the fort to the German army after they had been besieged for a week. The German army suffered losses of over 2,400 men, while the French lost just over 200, giving only 30 meters of the fort to the Germans during their advances. The last pigeon sent by the commander was given an award posthumously, then stuffed and put on display. Flame throwers were a terror weapon used, and many of the troopers were casualties of their own weapons, as their packs were pierced by bullets, engulfing their squads and themselves in fire.

This Map looks amazing, and for those who don't know if you play this map on operations, rush or front lines you will get to start fighting outside of the fort where there will be a lot trenches and bunkers. I can't wait to see the verdun heights map now, I have a feeling that one is gonna be the most epic.

Probably no shotguns in general because the other shotguns are just as good to use. The Model-10 Hunter is just utterly broken with its range but this map doesn't have that problem. Also, fuck those server rules. Thankfully there are a lot of official servers that don't restrict gameplay.

for $50 for priemum, I'd say it's worth it. these maps look so good, and add more variety to bf1(same with guns). bf1 did not have much content on launch so it did get stale a little for me. but I always played it because of the bf moments, like screaming rag doll pilots falling from the sky,etc and I love it. I've always had premium pass since bf3 times and it has been always worth it. dice is a awsome developer 👍

Trevor Leach for me it's the reverse. when i play support, i spam the ammo pack button on every ally i meet. i have the big and little ammo packs equiped (don't know their english names). but the worst are the fucking medics 3 meters away who won't revive you. i have a screenshot of a medic laying on my cadaver doing nothing. There should be a "revive me, dumbass" request button

It hurts to see how no matter what, from the start of the video all the way to the end once the enemy had that 100 points advantage it was basically over even 16 minutes before the match ended. What if for example if the loosing team held 3 or more objectives at the same time it would give maybe some extra points or faster deployment or something? If they are good enough, they can comeback, if not, they had the chance.

Hey Jack frags, I think that the zombie noises coming form the isolation door is a reference to the book "WWZ" , where in the French mans interview about his story surviving in the catacombs of France, you learn that his brother had died by (unfortunately) blasting his way into a isolation room. + to note, his brother's last words were a derivative of "they shall not pass (coincidently the title of the dolce)

Fort Vaux was held for 3 days and only surrendered as the cistern which held the water had a broken gauge which read full but only contained 12 gallons of water for 600 men in July. French poilu were licking the walls for moisture or drinking their own piss. When the French finally surrendered the fort they'd killed 3000 Germans for the loss of just 60. The fort was encircled and the French launched several counter attacks to try and recapture it but all were beaten back. They finally recaptured it iirc in October thanks to rolling barrage tactics and a pair of 405mm railway guns which demolished the fort. Check out the episode on the Verdun podcast or the whole thing if you get chance. It's very good.

About you saying those things about the defense of Fort de Vaux, how it was fought over was impressive indeed. At the start of the battle of Verdun, 600 men were stationed inside the fort, and they were being besieged by 5,200 German troops. Quickly the Germans broke inside the fort, but that wasn't the end for the fighting since the French then barricaded themselves inside the tunnels of the fort to keep the fort from Germans that little longer. Eventually, the French only surrendered a week after the fighting had started since some were now down the path of dying of dehydration. And the Crown Prince of Germany then welcomed the French commander of the fort de Vaux, and commended his men for their bravery and resilience, even bestowing a saber on the French commander :3. So the map does it justice thankfully. You fight outside, inside, with grenades, gas, etc...
