Fortaleza in English...... The KZbin said this to answer your question ❓ It is due to the racism and classism that still exists here. The richest people tend to be white and are more likely to have inherited money, gone to college, have a high paying govt job, own businesses, etc. Those folks dont like interacting with poor people and fear being robbed. A LOT of people here -regardless of class- tend to be more comfortable in their own neighborhoods. Poorer people often do not feel comfortable in rich areas. The neighborhoods here are also all set up like small villages and are all pedestrian friendly. People usually do not HAVE to leave their neighborhoods for the things they need as well.

Why is Fortaleza so "segregated " in certain area's? Is it because of lack of being educated? Or is it in fear of guns formulating in those area? Also, I like to know are there any type of education in the dangerous area?

economic segregation. In poor areas, you have all kind of people, but in richer areas is maiority white. There are no such thing as dangerous area. it's only ordinary neighborhoods with some criminals selling drugs. What type of education do they have? Well,. the type you can go to college free of charges

There is accessible education in all areas, in Brazil you already have access to education from a very young age, in public daycare centers, which are not as equipped as private daycare centers, but let's say they are accessible and have the basics. The issue of violence happens because crime became institutionalized, 20 years ago Fortaleza was not even among the most violent in the country, the northeast was known as a peaceful place, until criminal organizations, mainly in Rio and São Paulo, spread to the rest of the country , with the change of federal prisons to the northeast region, which brought the most influential criminals to the region, and as every king has his court, the drug lords, even in jail, brought theirs here.

As for the issue of segregation, racism in Brazil is structural, throughout history blacks have not had opportunities like whites, when they were freed, they were left to chance, the new republic was even worse than the monarchical regime, they left blacks without no social support, the only house they knew was the big house they worked as slaves, when they were captured many stayed on the streets, and others went to the hills, where they built their houses, like shacks, that's where the famous favelas originated from Brazil. Unfortunately, this continues to this day.
