I could never deal with that nasty feedback goingbon under the tone, I just run my dual rec with the grind in front and a zuul in the loop, I can't think of any scenario where you'd need to run both of these pedals together

I use grind on my dual rec, I have never seen the need for another overdrive with it as well, i dread to think of what this would sound like at stage volume, its very noisy. The Grind is perfect for the recto with nothing extra to tighten it up and make it sound slightly more modern. Right eyebrow....

The Grind pedal is great for a lot of things, but not for this. The pedal is made more for lower tunings like G1 and lower. The main feature of the Grind is that it substantially cuts out a ton of lows and boosts a ton of highs, which is, again, more ideal for lower tunings. Not 6-string tunings. In 6-string territory the registry is muuuuch higher and when you remove all lows and boost all highs it sounds very ice picky/needle-y. I used an EQ pedal in front of and after the tubescreamer going into the amp for my band's EP (we play in 8-string D1) and that did the job for me better than a TS808 into a Grind ever could. You can stack any two overdrives and get a great usable tone out of it, but these pedals don't do a full liposuction like a Grind/33 would do. Not knocking on Fortin stuff at all. But this doesn't work at all in this context.

This whole video I was yelling at you! Lol turn the fookin gain all the way down on the tube screamer, turn the grind down to 10 O,clock and use the Gain on the Rectifier to let it shine! Holy shit that made me so damn mad at first lol

Also I'm a channel 2 Vintage guy and this would have benefited sooo much better on that channel in that mode lol

@@Epochstudiosagreed, the 2nd channel is very full, has more low mids and that is where the 33 and grind can shine to balance things out

Nothing against the modern tone take but the amp alone @ 0:37 sounded just fine; sounds just as good with only the Grind but when the Fortin gets stacked with the 808 dunno... sounds like it might as well have been hit with a HM2 - not everybody's cup of tea.

If the resultant tone at 9:39 was what you're going for to match the tone at 0:10, you've failed miserably.

Whoever is in charge and decided this would be a good video should be fired 😂 Grind/33 can be abit much on its own depending on the rig/tuning and personal preference. Neutering the amp to then use a Grind and TS9 at less then optimal settings is ridiculous. It would of sounded better 10 different ways if they played to this rigs strengths.
